...to add to this... if you're getting a big return and would rather have more in take home pay, it's worthwhile to have a conversation with whoever it is at your company that handles payroll to see if you can change your tax withholdings. At my company I typically sit with anyone who wants and advise them on the appropriate amount of withholdings based on their own personal situation so that there are no surprises when it comes time to file their tax return.The more money you make the more taxes you pay. Consider yourself lucky that you make more. If they over withhold they will return it to you when you file.
