As much as I do not care about this Hunter Biden **** the predictable reaction from this by establishment dems the “center” just shows much this is just not set up for this current iteration of the Democratic Party to succeed for several reasons. It just feels like this current iteration is poison pilled and there’s no going back. The goofiness is just too baked in. Bidens presidency will be remembered horrible regardless of the good domestic legislation I believe took place. Some of that is his fault some of that is out of his control but the result is what it is. One thing I do know for sure. I’m done with caring about these norms, playing nice with moderates, caring about what conservatives think, not being willing to shake *** up drastically and treating this like if a a game im over it.

I’m not sure I agree with biden’s presidency being remembered horribly, especially if trump goes to the various degrees that have openly been discussed

even for the media if trump goes through with cutting access to traditional news entities for podcast bros.. they might not have enjoyed that their was very little spectacle for the majority of biden’s presidency, but when they start to lose niceties, then they’ll start crying and maybe hold them to some sort of standard (cause lord knows getting insulted constantly was enough)

But if trump actually goes through on this tariffs shh and certain simple things get affected, people going learn real quick

Or if the religious zealots are further empowered and allowed to start taking away other rights

He did fine with all things considered. Going to be bad all over again now though. Economy numbers and data are a mirage, a lot of working class people are still struggling and Trump isn't going to make it better.

I think it's important to consider the context in which "Hunter Biden" becomes a politically important story and why the pardon was so broad: republicans went after him to hurt Joe Biden in the wake of Trump's anti-democratic actions that got him impeached twice. That's it.

If Republicans had stuck to the norms, they wouldn't have supported the effort to contest the 2020 election, they wouldn't have ignored the Mar-a-Lago classified document leaks, and they wouldn't have emboldened Russia by weakening Ukraine. Remember that Trump was the reason why the RNC changed its official position on Ukraine support in 2016.

Republicans sold out the US in exchange for control of the country a long *** time ago. And if I were Biden, I'd make sure they don't come after anyone in my family because the reality is, they won't stop; it's a witch hunt out there, and Dems are the target.

I don't think anyone is cheering it on, he lied and said no pardon and everyone else in the party was saying he wasn't going to pardon him too. his press secretary said a million times he wasn't getting a pardon.

it's just nothing to get worked up about, they all lie. they're politicians and will always do what's best for them. rules for thee and not for me.

We're not really playing by the "rule of law," or the concept of accountability anymore. Instead, it's all about getting revenge, and Trumpists fully intend to use anything they can to punish those who have tried enforcing the law against them.

That's the context. When justice isn't going to be fair, why should anyone subject themselves to it?

The reason I say it’ll probably be remembered horribly is cause how people feel about him regardless of nuance is pretty set in stone. He’s old and people hated that, he handled a humanitarian crisis poorly and people hated that, he didn’t drop out sooner when he should have people hated that. Lookin at talk now come out from establishment dems and they seem cool with throwing Biden under the bus about this being his fault. That’s even before getting to how the right feel about him but who cares what they think. But even on the left across all levels of it he’s catching a ton of heat.

Just to quickly add to the Biden discussion...

Talked to this same dude this morning (he is a consultant on a project at my job) and we getting to chatting about politics after a meeting and mans is 100% on board with Joe pardoning Hunter.

Mans said that Joe would be nuts to leave Hunter exposed to the Trump nuts, even if he agrees it is a horrible and hypocritical look to pardon Hunter.

He said up said if Hunter got put in Federal prison, no way he comes out unharmed. He thinks the Bidens, Clintons, and Obamas should leave the country.

I pushed back (for the sake of conversation) on Patel and Trump cronies won't be that brazen, they are not being that nutty.
