Biden is old, he doesn't have 40 years to redefine himself like Carter

The Party won't try to rehabilitate his image

People barely understand economics as it is, telling people his industrial policy was amazing isn't gonna move the needle

If Biden had not run for reelection, and some other Dems caught the clean L, then I think he would be remembered more fondly in the long term.

It would be like "Joe tried, but inflation cooked the Dems", him not dropping out really ****** his legacy

People think the Gaza thing is a massive deal, but when it comes to legacies it doesn't mean much compared to other things for most people. Bush's imagine recovered from Iraq, and that was a way bigger **** up for a President.

Biden will just go enjoy his final years on a beach in Delaware.

And probably have to bail Hunter out one more time in the next decade

Joseph Biden will always be a great president in my eyes. To be real he was the most progressive president that I’ve seen and what he did for the economy and other areas will be looked at favorably when he’s gone. He saved America from Trump going back to back and what did the public give him? Nothing which is sad. Many of the same folks that wanted him to drop out conveniently didn’t vote or worse voted for the other guy when he did. I think there are some harsh realities that need to be said regarding America and our ally Israel and the fact that no politician that actually wants a long career will ever block weapons to Israel or do anything meaningful for the people in Gaza . The line you have to thread is almost impossible and the reality is that Bibi saw his fortunes being way better with Trump than Joey and acted accordingly.

I think people are grasping for straws when it comes to Joe. Folks voted based on their wallets and that’s that 🥚 and 🥛 mattered more. Joe dropped out, some argue it was too late but most folks thought that the legal system would hold Trump accountable (I never did) and by the time we discovered that it wouldn’t, it was too late. Harris ran about as good of a campaign as anyone could’ve and she took a clean L. Joe dropping out gave us the best chance but I’m convinced that this outcome was going to be the outcome no matter what. The sooner we accept it and move on the better

People will appreciate Joe 3 years from now once Trump and the GOP wreck everything.....AGAIN.

I don't know about the Americans, but definitely on an international level Biden is a genocidal warmonger. Bush and Blair have a legacy of warmongers, but Biden' will surpass it.

The difference with Iraq and Gaza is that Gaza was the first live-streamed genocide on social media where the Palestinians on the ground were documenting EVERYDAY and releasing images of the most gruesome and unfathomable violence for more than a year. You think people are going to forget images and videos of children's heads blown off? With American made weapons that killed them and seen in many images too? There's a whole stream and archives now of these images and videos.

I have not looked into polling in an international level in a while, but I doubt this.

Biden supported an ally at the end of the day. I don't think there is a consensus formed in him regarding this issue, and I don't think one will. If I had to call it I think Biden will be viewed negatively, but Bibi is the one that will get most of the blame internationally.

I would guess Bush lying about Iraq to get the US and it's allies into a longer, costlier war where more Iraqis died than Palestinians died at the hands of Israel, would matter if people had to think about it

It was a major news story for much of a decade.

The Iraq War was massive and widely covered. It turned into an even bigger scandal the more it went on.

Unfortunately, I think since the Israel Palestine conflict has been going down for so long that after a while it will just blend into people's general understanding about it. There is gonna be more killing and warfare.

I know this conflict is personal to you, but speaking generally, I think at the end of the day social media is not moving the needle as much as you think.

This is not to downplay anything that happened in Gaza.

I just think Iraq was a monumental **** up, beyond most presidential **** ups.

House Democrats are expressing concerns about Republican speaker Mike Johnson’s decision yesterday to remove the head of the chamber’s intelligence committee, whose stances had run afoul of Donald Trump. Johnson yesterday fired the committee’s chair, Mike Turner, an Ohio Republican who was a vocal supporter of security assistance to Ukraine. According to the Associated Press, Johnson justified Turner’s firing by saying, the “intelligence community and everything related to [the committee] needs a fresh start”.

For me to believe the "genocide" rhetoric I need to see some Palestinian protest when a Republican is president.

Keep the same energy, can't only be a "genocide" when a Democrat is president.

I guess we'll only tell with time how his legacy is viewed down the line. But, sure, you can say, I am in my own bubble in thinking Biden is perceived this way, but again it could be from my own echo chamber.

Of course. Also, as a Palestinian, Trump is just as genocidal, and I think now they'll move on to decimate the West Bank. The Kushners and Trumps have big business in motion and need to appease the Saudis, Israeli far right maniacs, but also Christian Zionists that are waiting for the coming of Jesus.
