First of all, I think in all trans discourse, everyone involved/polled should have to reveal how many trans people they have know or have even interacted with. (In the same vein, a journalist’s personal and familial financial situation and ties to foreign governments should just be posted up on the screen when they’re talking. Also, all nepo babies should have to wear a special badge at all times so as to warn the townsfolk of the incoming bad takes).

For most people, they only know about trans people from biased and outright hostile media reporting and commentary. And Democrats have done very little to push back on a years’ long, lavishly funded campaign of hate.

So yeah, no ****, if you don’t play hard, your team gets murdered on the boards. Your strategy seems to be giving up on the concept of rebounding and playing the opponent entirely on their terms. Always trying to be too clever, by half, in every situation, that’s a recipe for losing. Sometimes, you need to roll up your sleeves and contest.

It’s unfortunate that neither US political party will defend trans people but it’s 2025 and lots of politics are happening outside DC. For example, a lot of trans people are getting armed and a few instances of trans people defending themselves against transbashers will change the narrative among normies, median voters. The median voter respects strength above all else.

A lot of Democratic losses with young people was them losing so many of the left leaning young people to “strategic” non voting. Others were alienated by the TikTok ban and/or the Stancil-Yglesias approach to the economy in general (you’re NOT struggling to pay rent, see line is going up. At least Bill Clinton was willing to “feel your” pain. Biden 2024 and his media allies were like “what pain? Jack.”

Democrats can get back to winning and winning big with younger voters if they stand with young people and their friends (have a backbone and stand up for marginalized groups) and pair it with economic populism.

(I’m not making any claims about how this would be a magic bullet electorally. But with the under 30’s, and especially the college kids, their potential as the most left wing generation in US history remains and has been demonstrated already.)

Let’s not let this recent moment in the sun for 21 year old marble statue posters, be misread

The fact is that there’s always been marble statue guys in college and confluence of factors, such as Musk buying Twitter, the Biden administration and Harris campaign’s refusal to engage with younger voters, and inflation (both real and perceived), and the absence of high unemployment, has created conditions where the marble statue guys are enjoying a degree of prominence that’s exceptional.

But this won’t last and when another big recession like 08-09 hits in the next few years, and these first time Trump voters find themselves without their gambling money, socialism/populism will become very attractive.

Plus, most marble statue guys grow out of it and getting punched in the face by reality accelerates that process. And the next four years will involve many punches to many a marble statue faces.

This is why being a STEMlord can be your downfall. If dude had studied the humanities (or really if his tiger mom had let him be normal as a kid), he’d have known that white people love sleepovers and youth sports.

Combining a Friday night sleepover with your friends who are also your teammates (who you’ll be playing in a game with the next morning) is a foundational white kid experience. You get pizza, a blockbuster movie or two, some Sports Center, and hours of golden eye 64 with the boys, hell yeah!

Disturbing such an institution is grounds for deportation. I’m surprised such a sophisticated, business savvy Brahmin would be oblivious to such key information. Notice that the hard nosed Gunda, Kash Patel, is not making such blunders. I don’t know anything about Patel’s background but I know he was not spending his every Friday preparing for a science fair on Saturday, I can tell you all that much.

People don't get it.

Calling out his lies...
Calling out his crimes...
Calling out his subversion...

Does not emphasize his faults.

Instead it emphasizes his hold on power.

He is not beholden to the truth, to the justice or political system, he has risen above it. Abetted by the system itself by the way. Curtain Comey worried more about optics than russia collusion, so he hid it and pointed at Hillary's emails instead. Biden wanted to appear impartial, so he refused to remove a partial judge. Insisting to adhere perfectly to decorum and the rules, when your opponent has abandoned both is an effective losing strategy.

And he is not ashamed of his lies, crimes, corruption, he is proud of them: "They let you do it, they let you do anything." Trump grabbed America by the ***** and here we are.

And say what you will about the feces smearing J6 insurrectionists, but they were willing to fight for a lie. No one is going to storm the capital for the truth or for America. People are going to hunker down and pray, that he will go away in four years.

But why would he?

He is going to commit so many new crimes, that he can never relinquish power.

And why would he?
Pretty much this. Institutional norms are out the window so whatever crazy, racist or self serving thing he does moving forward will be chalked up to him not being a typical politician. And those who his potential actions will definitely harm, find ways to support him anyway.

Video starts with near certainty that some kids don’t have food to eat. Lady knows trump wants to decrease federal money that her school and its students and families need. But her vote goes to intangible ******** like “putting America first” and “making our lives better” instead of actual policy that will directly help improve lives.

Seeing people vote against their own interests is so ******* frustrating. School can close next year because a lack of federal funds and those idiots would vote for trump again in ‘28 if they’re allowed.

So what can people do besides hunker down?
Not really coming at you in a negative way, but what's your idea for what people could do? Whether violent or not, I'm interested in your specific suggestion, given the insights you posted. I guess I don't see what else there is to do that people didn't do, unless the suggestion is violence.

Few weeks ago I said something about odds on who’d get fired first, who write the first tell all book, who released the first secretly recorded audio of trump doing something illegal. Vivek has answered one of ‘em. This administration is going to significantly worse than the first trump go round.

Edit: seeing they may be stashing him in Ohio.

That school teacher and superintendent probably told their students they didn’t have school today because of the inauguration since everything about Black people in schools is CRT

I offer no suggestions, only observations.

Tomorrow J6 Insurrectionists will be pardoned, their release will expedited immediately and they will be hailed as true patriots and defenders of freedom.

This will be met with great many scornful tweets and righteous pundits will reap lots likes and retweets and it will be a grand day engagement wise.

I have tremendous sympathy for the kids who are going to be affected 😢😢 What I don't have is ZERO sympathy for those teachers & administrative staff who voted for that **** stain! You really thought he wasn't gonna destroy the Dept of Education? How bleeping stupid do you have to be? I hate to be an "I told you so" BUUUT....I ******* TOLD YOU SO!! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Say goodbye to your federal funding. Anyone want to guess how many red-state public schools are going to be shut down due to lack of funds? 🤔 It's going to be DISGUSTING! and those kids will be the collateral damage that Mango Mussolini caused! This is just the tip of the iceberg. The whole country is ****** and those in the video, YOU GOT PLAYED!

I’m with her on this. I’m not anti immigration but in the future, if we’re going to have merit based immigration, we need to make immigrating here/getting citizenship contingent on respecting marginalized groups (aside from one’s own).

We don’t need to import more illiberalism and buttered (insert highly refined veriety of an ethnically appropriate starch) boys coming here and becoming Republican clients.

Biden commutes sentence for Indigenous activist Leonard Peltier, convicted in killing of FBI agents

WASHINGTON (AP) — With just moments left before he leaves office, President Joe Biden commuted the life sentence of indigenous activist Leonard Peltier, who was convicted in the 1975 killings of two FBI agents.

Peltier was denied parole as recently as July and wasn’t eligible for parole again until 2026. He was serving life in prison for the deaths of the agents during a standoff on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. He will transition to home confinement, Biden said in a statement.

The fight for Peltier’s freedom is entangled with the Indigenous rights movements. Nearly half a century later, his name remains a rallying cry.

An enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa in North Dakota, Peltier was active in the American Indian Movement, which began in the 1960s as a local organization in Minneapolis that grappled with issues of police brutality and discrimination against Native Americans. It quickly became a national force.

The movement grabbed headlines in 1973 when it took over the village of Wounded Knee on the Pine Ridge reservation, leading to a 71-day standoff with federal agents. Tensions between the movement and the government remained high for years.

On June 26, 1975, agents came to Pine Ridge to serve arrest warrants amid battles over Native treaty rights and self-determination.

After being injured in a shootout, agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams were shot in the head at close range, FBI has said. Also killed in the shootout was American Indian Movement member Joseph Stuntz.

Two other movement members, Robert Robideau and Dino Butler, were acquitted of killing Coler and Williams.

After fleeing to Canada and being extradited to the United States, Peltier was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced in 1977 to life in prison, despite defense claims that evidence against him had been falsified.

CNN is on the petty today, having the camera on the outgoing administration while Trump is talking about inflation and prices.
