Is this real life? Is this big, or am I buggin'?
Chirikova described the political motivations driving many activists and individuals engaged in civil society to flee Russia, claiming that due to aggressive repression, emigration became necessary to ensure their safety. In particular, the campaign against Putin’s re-election in 2012 ignited an activist outcry and political backlash.
The crackdown in 2012 was marked by not only political repression, but economic hindrances as well, leading to the alternative cause of Russian emigration. Under Putin, “the creative class started to revolt internally,” and “it became clear that you can’t continue in the context of growing corruption,” said Erofeev. As a result, many Russian entrepreneurs left the country in order to realize their business aspirations in the United States or other Western countries.

Ultimately, entrepreneurs are leaving Russia “because they have no economic opportunity to use their skills,” said Polyakova.
I think Don will skate unfortunately. Republicans are putting party over country. They're gonna protect him because they don't want to destroy their party.trump is in over his head and every piece of evidence is pointing to the same obvious truth. This will be big and there will be collateral damage that lasts for years or decades. Whether we get pence for 2 years or whatever else is insignificant compared to the fallout from the trump-Russia scandal.
I know this could still fall apart and trump could make it through, but I have some faith in the FBI and CIA to get this done right. And by "done right," I don't mean well done. I mean medium rare.
Something like this was in plain sight before the elections... he actively asked Russia to hack more emails. The ties were there, yet he was still elected by people claiming a man tied to Russia was a true American. I'm not optimistic about any of this having any real affect. The GOP does not care.
You may be right. As Rusty explained a few days ago, the way to "win" is through the midterm elections and things like that. The Russia probe is like extra credit. If it comes through, great. But we should have a strategy that succeeds regardless of what the fallout is. Because ultimately, trump or no trump, we need a competent Congress if we're going to move forward as a country.I think Don will skate unfortunately. Republicans are putting party over country. They're gonna protect him because they don't want to destroy their party.

If you want to hide something from trump, put it in a book
