***Official Political Discussion Thread***

A victory for trump [emoji]128580[/emoji] They really gotta cut the bull****. Why give him props for fulfilling a campaign promise when the outcome is that it will screw over people's lives. He deserves no props for that
The CNN main head got a tweet of Trump framed on his wall

CNN outta Atlanta too with this nonsense smh they should be ashamed of themselves.

The "liberal media" will not save you.

CNN is not liberal

Hell it is barely journalism

It is ESPN for politics

I've just stepped into this thread now, but I'd encourage any of you who can afford it to support your local media outlets and any other ones you can. After the election I bit the bullet and now pay for the NYT, WaPo, and LAT.

If you pay for Amazon Prime, you can subscribe to the WaPo for $5/month after a six month free trial.

I found out last night my mother has a heart murmur, which is technically a preexisting condition since she got it diagnosed in her 20s even though she's been asymptomatic since then, and up until last week when her doctor noticed it again. **** the GOP and anyone that's down with them.

In this disaster, at least there were 2 positive moments: House Democrats singing "nananana hey hey goodbye" after the vote, and protestors chanting "shame shame shame" at House Republicans on their way to the Orange House.

I'm considering asking for proof of political party affiliation/support next time I see anyone needing medical attention. Republican dying on the side of the road and unable to call an ambulance? "Pull yourself up by the bootstraps". @#$@ having sympathy for these soulless savages that have none for anyone else.

I think I proposed this earlier: trump and republicans want to allow people to discriminate based on religious beliefs (like not making a cake for a gay couple). And now he's repealing the Johnson amendment, which had prevented tax exempt groups from engaging in politics.

It's time to form a church that believes in universal health care. Based on those beliefs, members of this church (mostly doctors and nurses) can refuse to treat those who don't adhere to their beliefs.

Will the Senate pass it tho??
It'll need to be scored by the CBO, I would assume. Plenty of big groups (AMA, AARP, etc.) are against it already.

So it'll undergo plenty of changes before the Senate would vote on it. Unclear if they'll actually approve it. If there's enough backlash, I would think they could let it dwindle, allowing at least the House leadership to say they did their best.

It'll definitely undergo changes.

Also it'll need to be scored by the CBO.

Plenty of big groups with nonpartisan group (AMA, AARP, etc.) are against it and have some pull too.

It could go either way.

They probably won't vote on it until July anyway.

Paul Ryan and the rest that voted yes on the bill are absolute scum though still.

Just left FB, Twitter, and phone messages to my Congressmen who voted for this bill. This guy is so scared to do townhalls and instead opted for teleconferences cause so many voters have been protesting and threatening him. It's time to get these Republican clowns out of DC.

I'm confused about preexisting conditions. So let's say someone gets a heart attack and gets cared for. Can insurance decline him cuz he was fat?

it means you can be charged more or be refused insurance coverage if you have a pre existing condition.

and yes obesity can be considered a pre existing condition.

The hypothetical you laid out that person could be charged more because they were fat, or denied insurance coverage because they were fat.

Not a chance in Hell. Once the truth comes about this and the American public are made aware of how terrible it is, it's a wrap. There is a reason House Republicans were so quick to get this thing through. No time for their constituents to blow up their phones and tell them to vote no. Congress was smart because now they got this off of their plate and dropped this hot steaming pile of a bill onto the Senates plate.

That's cold blooded. So if a dude was old and he gets a heart attack.. Age can't be a preexisting condition right? What's going on?!

The fact they put exemptions in for themselves pisses me off the most. They acknowledging the health care plan isn't good enough but they still wanna have this be the law of the land.

I bet those ***holes just feel like they deserve better coverage or have "earned" it but the American people don't

They voted to remove the exemption for keeping ACA for themselves. So they'll be stuck with TrumpCare, like the rest of us

Another day, another day of so called progressives being idiots.

So Hillary just announced that she and Howard Dean's new venture is that they are basically going to fund raise, then give the money to grassroots organizations. The loser progressive and pissed over this because..........................reasons :rolleyes
