To your main point, doctors are not the only bad guys in our system and in many cases, they are victims since the insurance companies and hospitals really lean on the medical doctors. Plus, the medical schools cynically use their border line monopoly power to put a lot of doctors deep in debt.

Broadly speaking, the US healthcare system is designed to redistribute income upward. A truly competitive, market based system (with lots of subsidies for low and middle income consumers) would be a big improvement over what we have now, over our healthcare system pre ACA and a competitive system could be even better than single payer. However, we have, within our healthcare system, a truculent elite that wants to keep its rent seeking behavior in place. It is like America writ large, those with the most want socialism for themselves and rugged, brutal capitalism for the masses.

I agree and there is a hierarchy even within physicians themselves. many are working the system to their own benefit but some are getting worked.

and, like you're saying, the system as a whole is both actively and passively working against true reforms that would benefit society-at-large.

I'd like to share a story ABOUT my friend and brother Noskey. The year was 1991, my father just got a new job in a town called Bluffington and we had to move from Bloatsburg. On a search to find food for my Mom (Theda), Dad (Phil) and sister (Judy), I met our next door neighbour Mr. Dink. He showed me a video about Bluffington and introduced me to the popular hangout fast food restaurant called The Honker Burger. When I get to the hangout, I met NOSKEY Valentine who befriended me right away. Noskey and I worked 27 hour shifts in the mines under Bluffington. Life was good until OBUMMER USED an executive order to shut down the Honker Burger.

And did Obummer use those executive orders for any GOOD in this world?! NO, SIR! He destroyed the HEARTLAND of Merica and made it legal to murder babies and children for their disgusting ISIS cult. Brother Aepps and I were spreading the good word of our Dapper President Elect for years but the libbies DID NOT LISTEN. Us real PATRIOTS were left with economic anxiety and no option but to VOTE WITH OUR HEARTS after the travesty of Obummer, and vote multiple times we did! But here is where things get interesting. According to ITEP, she, and donors in 10 states that have similar rules, could then turn around and claim a federal charitable tax exemption on the same donation.

The new top federal income tax bracket is 37 percent. That means, in total, the South Carolina donor could get back $1.37 million in exchange for $1 million, ITEP calculates. That is a better risk-free return on investment than you're likely to find anywhere.

Not only do they not contribute to the financial burden of educating kids, they get additional refunds from federal coffers for "donating" to private educational funds.

Barack Obama came along and said climate change was real and it was important fight.

Then the GOP did a complete flip flop on the subject.
