Gotta wonder why these right wingers who constantly mention how this or that dictator forbade gun ownership as a pro-gun argument never mention Caucescu outlawing abortion when abortion is the subject of debate.

Guns alone are not going to stop white supremacy but when it comes down to the get down I would rather we have them than not.

Like I said if you could guaranteed me those "gun-toting morons" wouldn't have them then I'd give mines up but that's impossible.

I'd recommend people give this book a read. It delves into the history of Black gun ownership and instances of "shooting it out" with white supremacist.

Listen I don't trust anyone who tells me not to exercise the rights the dominant society has, covets and my ancestors died for me to have.

I wish Killer Mike didn't go on NRATV but where was this same energy when Kaepernick told us it was pointless to vote and we can't vote our way out of oppression?

Where's Philando Castille?

Wanna take a walk with your weapon in open view (where it is legal to do so) and see how society and law enforcement react to you?

Wanna fight WS with your guns? Go ahead. But remember that after the fight comes the court, and when the police and the judges can ignore your right to carry and to defend yourself with no consequences, you're never gonna get justice.

And I'm sure Kaepernick is regretting his words today, because what he said was stupid then and it is stupid now.

For the record, there were a lot of people miffed by Kaep’s approach to voting. I was one of them. I rock with dude, but that’s one thing that I think he was hella irresponsible with. Him and Killer Mike’s approach to the presidential election were very similar IMO.

The worst part is that they are delusional enough to think that by not voting because they disliked both candidates their act of non-voting hurt both candidates equally, when it in fact them not voting was 90% as good as a vote for one of the two candidates (we all know which one).

I can understand people who are lazy or people who wouldn't have voted regardless of who the candidates were not voting.
But I will never understand people who realize that voting is important and who would've voted for a certain candidate not voting because they hated both of the final candidates. Trying to understand their logic boggles my mind. Like:

1. People who wanted Hillary to win voted for Hillary.
2. People who wanted Trump to win voted for Trump.
3. People who wanted neither to win didn't vote for either.

Except #3 (neither becoming president) was an impossible outcome of the election. Like did they think neither winning could somehow end up as a result of the election?

I can even understand Bernie Bros who in the end preferred Trump over Hillary over those who didn't vote at all. At least they were smart enough to realize that there was a 100% chance of either Hillary or Trump becoming president after the election, so they chose who they saw as the lesser of the two evils over neither becoming president, something that had 0% chance of happening.

Kaep did a lot of good, but even if he becomes the next MLK/Malcolm X/Ali, I will never forgive or forget his stance during the 2016 election.

This is one of my fears. Doubled edged sword.

Even though Killer Mike was saying some real ****, I think he made the mistake of choosing that particular platform to do it. C'mon son, the NRA is against everything you stand for as a black man and they don't even support the rights of African Americans and other people of color. You being on their platform legitimizes them and takes away from your credibility. The medium is just as important as the message.

But I understand why he did it. He probably felt that he could reach more people and appeal to their logic and humanity. But the thing about this approach is that, people who support and fund the NRA don't care about any of that.

Black people with guns aren't going to use them to lead a violent revolution against White Supremacy on some Killmonger type scheme.

But literally every constructive Black civil rights movement has armed themselves to protect themselves.

Killer Mike is lightweight being disavowed by Black people over this and while Kaep was criticised his whole whole movement wasn't dismissed .

Kaep never sat down with the NRA

Sat with the folks who openly show they don't care about us or our rights when Philando got murdered. He deserves everything coming to him for that. Lightweight tap dancing while being used as a pawn. This is like Trump strolling in negros for photo ops.

Come on man. These are the people spreading hateful things about black gun violence to increase their white members.

Kaep being a dummy and telling people not to vote is a bit different from Mike's tacit endorsement of the NRA.
Kaep was jus following Tariq Nasheeds lead. Tariq has said that Kaep listens to his shows.

In NRA's defense, they have as selflessly and tirelessly ensured the proliferation of firearms into American communities much like the pharmaceutical industry has opioids. Obviously sometimes they had to use corrupt middlemen for legal reasons, but who are we to judge them or their shareholders's motives.

Is this a joke post?

It's wild to me how Tariq is full crisis mode about Trump getting elected but he helped it.

Does Killer Mike not know about NAAGA?

No Black person should ever deal with the NRA. They've shown their true colors so many damn times.

I'm member and the organization needs backing from a gun company or a big time donor to make real progress.
