So now in America we have the GOP trying to steal elections and are pissed off ethnic minorities are exercising their right to vote, coordinating protest with hate groups, the president is dog whistling about Jewish people and calling himself a nationalist, lying about their policies, fear mongering about foreign invaders, attacking an all government institutions that they think oppose them, a high court that is against the will of the people, an now we have assassination attempts on political opponents.

Please tell me again how we are not like a corrupt third world country.

this is a product of that good ole anglo conformity the GOP use. It’s a tool for control and it goes completely against democracy and american values. It would be interesting to find out what kind of bombs they are. That can tell authorities a lot about their potential perpetrator. The one sent to CNN appears to be some kind of pipe bomb ("pipe and wires") according to a law enforcement source who spoke to CNN.

AP says the device delivered to Soros' home appeared to be a pipe bomb as well.

At least the multiple pipe bombs would suggest the perpetrator's skillset is relatively low in terms of building explosives. Or perhaps he doesn't have access to materials for more complicated and damaging homemade explosives.

It's not that hard to find a manual detailing every step of the construction of a pipe bomb if you know where to look. Then it's just a matter of putting it together without premature detonation, which does require some technical skill of course.

Sending multiple bombs to such high profile targets, presumably being well aware that screening would likely prevent any damage, also suggest an aggressive approach. I assume the perpetrator will likely escalate his attacks if he sufficiently covered his tracks.

Either way, based on the bombs it doesn't appear that some kind of Theodore Kaczynski criminal mastermind is at work here.
