It’s crazy how get tough in crime laws, more police, & more prisons hasn’t remotely worked at curbing crime at all but has produced hundreds of billions in profits & helped get officials elected locally & federally. nra has made off like a bandit to.

When I went to get more mags and my newest receiver the folks in the gun shop were talking about how bad socialism is. Ol girl tried to get me to join the NRA, hard.

That wait for my background check to finish was the most awkward ****.

So who would yall libs like to see Booker or Harris take on as VP (if they get that far)? Are we pushing boundaries with someone like Warren? Playing it vanilla with a Tim Kaine type? Going ALL IN on the millennial vote with a Beto?

Howard Schultz.

Gotta lock up the out-of-touch billionaire vote (Cuban, Bezos, Buffettttt).

beto had a great sound bite for sure but he’s so incredibly flawed... Despite being a Dem, he’s voted too much against his party favoring deplorable legislation including severely limiting consumer protection measures (including protecting against discriminatory auto lending practices).

Edit - I’d kind of characterize him as a wolf in sheep’s clothing really. His record is awful.

That’s a valid critique on him. But he’s in a tough situation being a liberal in Texas. He has to make some type of compromise and concessions in that respect. Much different ballgame than running as a liberal in Cali or New York or so.

Goes back to the “bad parent” analogy. Your kid is bad so you spank them. Years go by, they do something bad and you spark them. Now they’re adults and the spanks aren’t that bad anymore. Kid still does bad, gets spanked but now spanks back. All the kid knows is consequence. You “teach” consequence you better get better consequences and prepare to keep escalating.

Doesn’t help either that us government has been complicit in drug trafficking either (among other numerous ills).
