Not Cuban but used to live in WPB a while back, most of these transplants with political clout in SoFlo were part of the elite/bourgeoisie back home under the US backed Batista dictatorship before Castro drove them out after the revolution.
They've been hard GOP allied and crusading against left wing politics in the US and Cuba ever since
