Agreed we are not a monolith but it is even more complicated than race.
I think you have to take religion into account, wealth, and how long you or your family have been in America.
I think by default we are Democrats unless you are very religious; come from Cuba, Venezuela, or Nicaragua, or have your own business. For some reason all of my latino family and friends who have their own small business think they are now republicans lol
I think race does play an issue but even if you are a dark or an indigenous latino who is religious, or come from one of those countries, or own your own business there is a good chance you are republican.
Politically Latinos are more like African Immigrants than African Americans. At least that is what i sense from my surroundings.
