Even the Koch Brothers were heavy in the libertarian party (they identify as libertarians) until they realized these people were too loony to be a viable party and started focusing on perverting the GOP.

Barry Goldwater himself, a libertarian hero wanted against Evangelical Pastors talking over GOP, because these people will destroy democracy because they refuse to compromise. A lot of those pastors, identified as libertarians.

Gary Johnson was booed at the Libertaisn debate in 2016 by half the crowd because he said all things considered he would have voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act. And thinks it is reasonable to have driver's licenses.

Most libertarians I've encountered are conservatives who don't want the social stigma associated with MAGA. They share the exact same views as Republicans, to extremes even, but don't want the label.

Do libertarians support any police intervention that could lower driving injuries and incidents though?

Many are against seatbelt laws, speeding limits, public spending to redo roads to eliminate the kind of traffic flows that cause more accidents, and against increased taxation to expand mass transit.

They are not for better policy interventions, they just want to remove the little we have now.

Every Libertarian I've met doubled over on trying to convince me of the viability of being "fiscally conservative" and "socially liberal". It's often hilarious to see the knots they tie themselves into when you ask simple questions that inadvertently poke holes in their fiscal conservative stance as it relates to being socially liberal. Their dip into the pool of "socially liberal" mindsets usually starts and stops at weed legalization, from my experience. Never into race, gender, or sexual orientation. Just weed. lol. Can't take em serious.

Plus, again, I have been very critical of leftists in here too. No one is above criticism, I just don't see why I should stop at one of the most foolish and destructive ideologies there is.

I just don't like libertarian because I disagree with them politically

From my educations, I have been made aware of how lacking Austrian economics is in comparison to other economic schools of thought

Through reading about political history, and learned about how white supremacy and libertarianism have played off one another

I have listened to and read lectures for libertarian thinkers that contain tons of dog-whistle racism

I lived through the Tea Party, I read social science research on these movements

I was on for a short while, I interacted with these people for most of my adult life.

My opinion is just not born out of some petty political difference. So I don't feel I need to sanitize my opinions about them

I never criticized your views though, I never asked you your political ideology, and never attacked you for anything you believe

Seems to me like libertarian conservatism is just republican conservatism on steroids but without the bounds of Christianity.

its easy to be socially liberal and fiscally conservative if your stance is "eveyone can do anything". most people ive talked to who claim to be libertarian dont see anything wrong with the system other than what it says you can't do. for them once you turns those can'ts into cans, everything is fixed. meanwhile it still ignores the inequities the old system left behind.
