Sometimes that's the way it be. If we need to sacrifice our lives, (*highfive Herman's Ghost*) so be it. I'll gladly die for our senpai Don to continue his reign of PATRIOTISM upon this nation.
whatever it takes. just gotta hold the line. I'm SO CLOSE to getting a car loan and then da passing lane power is mine!!!

It is kinda wild how blue VA got in such a short period of time.

From worrying about Trump might flip it, to it being a lock for a blowout.

I remember living in MD and witnessing NoVa voters always having to try their best to hold off the electoral buffoonery coming from the South.

Loving that rico x hood rico x hood lives in a deep blue state now.

And more companies are moving to towards Northern VA too for their mid Atlantic presence. If Charlotte can have the same sort of transformation they maybe able to flip that state too.

this got me thinking about the census. dems losing some electoral votes potentially. eventually flipping texas is key:

edit: this may be more consequential (and complicated) as it relates to the House.

Biden even won Virginia Beach, which went Democratic for the first time since 1964.

He's too busy worrying about DBZ to care about such trivial things.

Yeah, I'm hoping migration into Charlotte takes off, the best way to make the state blue.

It mostly looks like a wash with Oregon and Colorado and Arizona all gaining an extra EC vote.

All of the red states that gained EC votes are all gettable to varying degrees, even Montana by the latter part of the decade.

CA losing a seat in Congress kind of hurts. We have never lost a seat and only once, 2010, did we fail to gain a seat.

I am sure this census data will prompt a thoughtful conversation on AM radio on the effects of housing costs rising much faster than most people’s wages causes low-moderate income workers to leave California and how massive growth and capital inflows do not translate into widespread prosperity.

Just kidding, they’ll blame “socialism” and the fact that unhoused people are not all in concentration camps for causing an “exodus” of “hard-working” people and subsequent population decline.

I could see it, it'll be awhile but I could see it going the same way as Jax. Even with the loss of the state, Duval county went blue for the 1st time in damn near 50 years, a mix of turnout and people coming in. Especially if the migration went out from Mecklenburg into some of those heavily red counties surrounding CLT.

Seems like Erza Klein is leaving Vox. Won't be writing for them, and I think his current podcast is dead

He is moving over to the NYT to be an opinion writer, report on policy issues, and lead a new policy podcast. Seems like he is going back to what he used to do during his WOnkblog days.

Couple thoughts:

-NYT finally improves its Opinion Page. NYT been getting drunk off of ****** right-wing takes for the past 4 years. Nice to see them go in the other direction

This reinforces my view that Mathew Yglesias is fragile as hell.

Klein leaves Vox by talking up them up and wishing them well. He moves on to a potentially bigger platform. Yglesias on his way out said he felt he could say what he wanted without pushback from his co-workers. Now mans is trying to peddle a paid newsletter, and he still needs that Vox podcast check. :lol
