The defense is due for a big game. Let’s not forget they contained and held Green Bay to 21 a week after they put up 48 on the road against a good Dallas defense while making it look easy. They held Detroit to nothing but what was essentially a garbage time touchdown in the 2nd half. Adjustments were made and they stepped it up.

KC has been a great 2nd half defense. But the 49ers have the personnel to disrupt that. If they commit to the things they do best and don’t panic if KC gets an early score. They’ll be fine. Win or lose they gotta die on their sword tomorrow though. If KC can effectively shut down CMC, along with a solid mix of Deebo and Elijah Mitchell carries for a full 60 minutes. You tip your hat and give Spagnolo props for executing a damn good gameplan.

And even in the event KC does come up with an effective plan to contain the run. I have faith in Brock Purdys ability to not be Jimmy Garoppolo. If BCB was under center in the first chiefs Super Bowl and the Rams NFC title game, those teams would’ve had no choice but to respect the passing game to where they wouldn’t have gotten one dimensional late.

I hope tomorrow is a Deebo Samuel taking over the game type of game. Similar to what happened in Philly back in December.

I can see KC going all in to stop CMC. And possibly even having some early success doing so. Granted CMC will get his if they keep feeding him. But Deebo is going to get some chances to be a major disrupter.
