The Kyle shanahan San Francisco 49ers are 7-30 when trailing at halftime.

The defense was horrible on Sunday, no question about that. I think people are just frustrated that this offense can never carry this team, esp with all the skilled position players they have.
And that's totally understandable. But for people (not necessarily people in here) but out there on the internets that solely put the blame on Jimmy G for the loss is just a lazy take.

There are two main problems - Kyle and Jimmy. They get most of the blame when we look at the overall big picture, not just last game.

Can someone explain where the offensive genius, boy wonder, etc. descriptions for Shanahan originate from? Were these memes or facts? I’m being 100% serious. All over Reddit people are posting “Kyle’s not the genius we thought he was” but I’m just like ???

Granted I’ve only paid attention to him since his play calling disaster with the Falcons, but I haven’t seen anything from ever that justifies that type of description since then. All I’ve seen is a decent coach who can win some games but ends up losing important/winnable ones because he NEVER makes any adjustments until it’s too late, and then we have to rely on our average QB making desperation throws that you just know will get picked off eventually.

IMO, we know what we the Niners have with Jimmy, and it’s the coach’s job to work with it especially now that he’s the only option. I don’t think he’s a terrible QB, but he definitely plays like one under pressure. An offensive genius would find ways to take that pressure off Jimmy so he doesn’t have to keep resorting to his risky @&$ passes that he doesn’t have the ability for, right?

Fans rightfully get on Jimmy for missing game winning throws in the Super Bowl, but I feel like he’s played 100x worse since the offense stagnated after that year.

This same hate came last year same time when Niners were mediocre. Everyone coming for Kyle’s head then at the end praised him

Y’all need to relax. Division still up for grabs. Season still a marathon not a race. Save ya quick hate for when the season is done. Chiefs a really good team. We’ll be aight.

so you want jimmy to throw more 5 yard passes?

the tape has been out on jimmy. he’s like vending machine. if you shake him enough he will give up the goods.

Not at all. Let me rephrase:

I don't think Shanahan is a trash coach overall.

I just feel that someone who gets referred to as an offensive genius should be able to either call plays that makes the game easier for his average QB or coach his QB to be better overall. I've seen too many games where the Niners start off hot and then don't do anything for a LONG TIME, and then we see Jimmy making stupid desperation throws that eventually get picked off. A genius coach wouldn’t let the game get to that point.

IMO Shanahan is good as an interim coach who can keep the team competitive, but I don't trust him to actually win a Super Bowl.

Who was praising him last year? Why would he deserve praise for being bailed out by special teams and possibly by the Cowboys being stupid?

I’m sure the Niners will be “fine” in terms of being a decent to good team, but is that the standard we should have as fans after 4-5 years of being “fine”?

Sorry to say this but what happened last year ain't happening this year.

And if it did, we already know this QB ain't going to win a Lombardi.

So as 49ers fans, let's ask ourselves, "are we content with making the playoffs only to lose with a mediocre QB and coach or is this organization about winning championships?"

Gotta get rid of the cancer.

Jimmy needs to release the ball quickly. That's how you use him.. but Brosizzlew30.23 Brosizzlew30.23 posted a couple photos of JWJ wide open, and he can't even hit that. Jimmy plays good for only 2 quarters, and then he gets in his own head, just like our coach. Running the ball great, nah throw it. I hate throwing on first down, especially when its not even a boot or some type of play action.

Does it need to be national tight end day every week for Kittle to show up? I do believe with another week of CMC we can start using some outside zone runs more effectively, stop using Power I all the time, the defenses know what it is.
