I’ve been seeing this circulate lately. I agree, but they started 3-4 in 2022 before winning the last 10 regular season games that season.

Anyhow Seattle on Thursday is as close to a must win for a week 6 game as there is. If they win they’re in first place in the division. If they lose, they’re 2-4 with Kansas City and Dallas coming up while also being 0-3 in the division.

The schedule looks pretty brutal moving forward. If they’re going to make a second half run. They need to beat Seattle Thursday and at the very least split the two games between Kansas City and Dallas. Ideally they win all 3 though.

Seattle game is equivalent to that Rams MNF game where we won and went on our run

Bring back Saleh today. Even if it’s as an assistant until it’s time to can Staley and Sorrenson (hopefully soon).

The only reason he left in the first place was because he took the Jets head coaching job. He wasn’t someone they wanted to see leave.

Are there any restrictions or complexities with bringing a fired coach in the same season? Has it happened before? I really hope we get Saleh back

The jets are paying Saleh 500k a month. Why the hell would he be in a rush to join a new team in the middle of a season?
I am sure he would want to be able to build his own defense in the offseason and not come in and fix someone else's issues during the season.

And the grind I’m sure he was on as a HC in NY must be high pressure stress throughout the season including preparing in the offseason.

I’m sure dude doesn’t even want to think about football for the next few months and go on a long *** vacation.

Just to clarify, when i said this, i wanted jets to fire him based on the state of the jets under his tenure as their HC, not because he’s standing up for human rights and freedom

So now that it's confirmed Saleh is going to enjoy his time off and be paid to not work, the reason now is nobody wants to work with Shanahan?

I’m pretty certain he left the 49ers on good terms and is held in high regard by the organization and the defensive guys who played under him.

That being said. Make that call, get in touch. Tell him to enjoy his vacation on the Jets dime. But when he’s ready to start coaching again. There’s a place for him with the 49ers.

Barring a huge turnaround defensively which can be directly attributed to the defensive coaching, Staley and Sorrenson should be canned after the season the same way Wilks was. You have an ideal defensive coordinator who is familiar with the team, the culture and all of the above waiting in the wings. I get the optics of it being hard to bring him in now. Hell he probably wants to enjoy some time away from football. But at the very least they should reach out and make that call to Saleh even if it’s more for beyond this season.

Sorenson needs make adjustments with his personnel and his game plan. I'm not going to call for his head, just yet.

I thought Staley was going to help the offense with its play calling. But there is a disconnect.

Wilkes made an in-season adjustment and it worked for the most part (lol).
