how sturdy is it?

Its pretty sturdy, I can sit on it no problem. For reference I'm about 160lbs and i'm sure it could hold more. Also, I went with 40cm (~16") height. Thats all personal preference, but I wouldn't go too high, I would think it would have less side to side stability.

mine were the same way. I had to wash them thoroughly to get the smell out and the oiliness was so bad, you couldn’t see through them
