Dirty might be my favorite Sonic Youth record but this is a pass for me as with most collabs. The amount of kids who eat this stuff up with zero previous knowledge of the content is pretty silly to me.

But I think that's sort of the point--to introduce people, who otherwise might have have exposure to these artists, to their work.

That's a pretty good point. Personally I'm glad when Supreme releases collabs like this. But I feel like every Supreme art collab is split up like this...

I remember when the Philip Larkin collab came out, a bunch of dudes were copping just because it was Supreme but had no idea who Philip Larkin was...Never did end up being able to grab one of those hoodies in my size Still bummed, wrote about him for some work in college years ago.

I think the one drop that made me smh at people the most was during the Yankee collaboration. People couldn’t even name 1 baseball player in Yankee history in that Complex vid yet were buying every piece there was

Felt the same about the CNN War Report pieces. TONY is one of my favorite songs ever. Takes me back to riding with my older cousin around Corona when I was younger. Saw a dude with the hoodie and told him it was dope and if he listened to CNN...his response was “who is CNN?”

I’m not a supreme head like that (I’ve made like 3 total purchases over the years ) but they’re are a few collars that I kick myself for missing or striking out on. Yankees, Nas and Michael Jackson are among the main ones
