***Official Tattoo Thread: Inked-4-Life Vol.2***

I've had my tattoo for about a month and half... Is it bad that I put Aveeno on it almost everyday?

Think I'm gonna try dry healing next time I get some work done.

i did this and i think its been the beast for me. only time it got wet was for showering and i used dove. it healed faster also.

:lol I already know it's gonna be tough, I plan on starting my leg this summer and that itch is like none other :x
Everyone's skin is different, but for me it takes about a week or so.

I didnt scab when I got my Flash done, my ankle was just swollen for about a week... But like you said everyone is different

Why? A tattoo is an open wound, and needs to be washed thoroughly for a few days after it's done to keep it from getting infected. Soap can dry the skin out, so you'll have to use something to moisturize it.

I know lots of people with tattoos from lots of different artists, and they've all been told to put some kind of moisturizer on them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
When should I expect my tattoo to start scabbing?
It really depends on the person, because everyone heals at a different rate. My half sleeve has a lot of black and a covers a lot of my arm, so it took longer to heal. I think it started scabbing about a week into it. Make sure you let the scabs come off by themselves and don't rip them off. You can take some of the ink with the scab if you pick them (you'll see some ink in the scabs when they fall off).

Any tips on taking care of my tattoo? I've been avoiding touching it and stuff like that. I bought the antibiotic soap and ointment. They told me wash it 6-10x a day and apply ointment 1-2 times a day. Does that mean that I shouldn't put on ointment after every time I wash it? Also, how many days should I wash it 6-10x a day for? Any tips or advice?

I just use tattoo goo...

So I cut down on washing it 6-10x a day (I washed it 6 the first day and 3 yesterday) should I keep washing it like 3-4x a day or only when I wake up and after my shower or more?

^

I answered your question already. After the first 2 days you really dont need to wash it. Just shower normally and apply the ointment for the first 3 days, then lotion after. Its really not a biggie.

Wats up brosephs. Just looking for some opinions on this piece. It's wall art, but it just speaks to me. It's very powerful.

You guys think this would make a good tattoo? When I saw it, I thought I could incorporate it into a calf sleeve type of tattoo.

Might be heading to Jacksonville, FL next week for spring break. Any good shops around there that yo guys recommend? I googled some shops and found a shop I think I would like.

Side note: been looking for a good shop in MD but all the shops I look at online does not come close to what is being posted in here.

That looks very tattooesque more so then wall art. It's your standard Leopard/Tiger head. Would be a cool tattoo but to make that into a calf sleeve, you'll need something more.

would dry skin have an effect on the outcome of your tattoo?

Thanks, and yea, I'd def need to add some other elements to make it a sleeve. Just not sure what else :lol.

Gonna be perusing this thread and tattoo sites/shops to get more ideas.

I don't ever lotion myself up now

That panther is pretty sick.....Might have to re-jig that for myself.

Sorry bro |I

My tattoo has been scabbed and is now peeling.. Even when I put lubriderm or wash it, it peels. Is this normal? I feel like I'm healing fast

Dude you gotta stop worrying about it. Its gonna scab, its gonna peel, its going to look faded temporarily. Just let it rock. Everyone's body is different. Just keep putting lotion 2-3 times a day and in a week you'll be good.
