Leaving a comment on everything doesnt make me an elitist. Id love if someone were to nitpick my tattoos (feel free actually, not even trying to sound like a dbag, id really like an honest opinion on my tattoos, I always wonder if someone was thinking the same nitpicking stuff on my tattoos). But average isnt necessarily a bad thing like I said. Should it be re-worded to the "standard, good tattoo"?

So I told my pops about my tattoo, he's telling me that there will be a lot of judgement in the work world, and basically implies that it'll be hard for me to get a high up job / good career job.
Is this still true in the world of today? I don't think it is, but I know that all of you guys probably have some sort of showing tattoo. How does it affect you in interviews? Do they ask you about it or do they just write you off? Does it keep you from really having a good shot at some good jobs?
Mine is going to be on my inner forearm btw.

Having a full sleeve has had 0 effect on my career since I wear dress shirts/long sleeve button up to work everyday. it's the same as taking out my earrings for work (actually it's easier to hide since you can tell I have my ears pierced)
If you're in outdoor manual labor, then yea it might be harder. Even then, there are cover up sleeves you can buy (I wear these when I have to wear a short sleeve shirt for whatever reason but don't want my tats visible)

Yes and no. Yes meaning if you have a neck, hand or face tattoo, that could bar you from getting a job. No meaning if you hide all your tattoos (nothing a long sleeve can't do), and if you get hired and they some how find out that you have tattoos and fire you, you can literally sue a company for wrongful termination. Trust me......my company writes insurance for this stuff and tattoos come up all the time but it also doesn't mean a company can't fire you for something else when it was meant for the tattoo.
And take it from a 33 year old person, depending on which state you are from, tattoos are so regular now. At my last corporate job which was a fortune 500 one, tons of people had tattoos from old ladies with tramp stamps to tons of guys with sleeves. It is so normal now but you have to be a professional. If your job is important, than wear a long sleeve 24/7 and roll them up once you leave the premise.

I have friends who are nurses that have tattoos on their hands and little ones near their ears on their necks. They've never told me about any problems they've experienced with them.
If you're a guy and have a corporate / office job, chances are you'll have to wear long sleeve dress shirts anyway. That'll cover up almost all arm tattoos.

This. I don't have any tattoos yet but I have a "professional" job and wear long sleeve button downs every single day, even in the summer.

Most of my tattoo are on my arm, and very visible with short sleeved shirts. 4 work days of the week, I wear long sleeved dress shirts. Casual Friday, I often wear short sleeves, and never been bothered due to the tattoos.

Tatjacket and Ink Armor sleeves, but yea they're essentially the same thing. It's useful for long distance driving too, since you can quickly throw them on to keep the sun from roasting your tat for hours

I know a lot of accountants with tattoos. If they work in a casual environment they dont even hide them. If they do they hide them. For guys, there is no business professional attire that is short sleeve.

Unless you're dwight schrute. Dude rocked the short-sleeved dress shirts. Reminds me when I was in Catholic school and wore the short-sleeves with clip on tie during the warm months.

I'm one of those accountants with tats. We just look completely different at work than we do in "real life"

^lol. I only have 1 tattoo that can't be covered by shorts and a tank top and that's on my calf. Getting my sleeve done soon. So yah. The only time any of us have even jumped was when my friend had to go to a baseball game in the summer with other interns. I told him to wear a baseball tee. IDK what he ended up doing.

He would wear the illest suits to class every day (night class). Then one day she couldn't get through all the material and they agreed for the class to meet up in the weekend. Then this CEO who is always decked out in thousand dollar suits and real gold cufflinks comes to class in leather pants, boots, jacket with no sleeves, covered in tats on his harley. She said she couldnt recognize dude

My boy (regular joe) got tatted by Jun twice, so its possible but there is a long wait time.
His (old) crew at Low Rider Tattoo is just as talented as he is, if you want a tattoo om Jun's level, look them up. Will be cheaper and certainly a shorter wait time.

Waiting 3 years to get something I know I won't regret is totally worth it to me. Not saying I want a tattoo ... Just saying that I was to ever consider getting one, him or someone of his caliber is who I would go to ... Not someone of craigslist that wants to barter ... LoL

For long distance driving, I have my whole car tinted as well. I think that would somehow help against the sun just beating on your skin.

Some states have different tint laws than others
There are some artist who are only booked 2-6 months in advance who i'm sure you wouldn't regret getting tatted by.
I am not sure if I should save my right arm for one of those artist with a 2 year waiting list AFTER they take a year and a half to contact you or not

Sun won't kill a healed tattoo. Just don't fry and you'll be good. I got some old ones that look brand new. I only use sunscreen on boats and beaches etc. At least that's my experience.

I don't know any states that don't allow you to get at least 35% tint. You're not supposed to get your windshield tinted in Maryland, but I've had mine tinted 35% for 2 years. I've yet to be pulled over, because of it. People that get pulled over for tint are probably doing some extra unnecessary stuff like getting 5%.
