OFFICIAL THE WIRE THREAD.. ''The game is the game"

I won’t front. Omar in the court room was a great episode and the flower scene the next episode had me dyin  . Still largely uninterested in the Sabotka / Valchek conflict.

Omar in the court room was a great episode

I mean. The show did a great job of making us think it was Avon.

Stringer did mess with D’s girl. He was a shark. He deserved how things ended.

D, Wallace, etc weren’t built for the game. They thought they were…but it’s savage.

I guess the question is are you completely morale free like a Marlo? Or operate with rules and parameters like an Omar?

There are absolutely Stringer defenders, they're out there lol. 206to813 206to813 not defending D, he would have eventually flipped on his family and paid the consequences, Stringer sped up that process, but he was def wrong messing with D's girl. Ultimately, Stringer's loyalty was to himself.

Yeah I agree. Stringer was dirty but cant rock with D either

We really got folks in here that are Team Stringer?

He ain’t do nothing wrong *given the circumstances* until he turned rat. Killing D was foul but dude was acting weird

D shoulda took Wallace and ran the copy shop :lol

Wasn't it implied that he was always an informant to a certain extent. Him and Bunny acted real "familiar" when he put the drop on Avon

Ehh feel like String was a snake the whole time.

Finishing up my rewatch

season 5 is easily the worst, while it has moments I really wish they focused on certain other shhh

id go 4 > 1 > 3 >> 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5

i get Simon was a journalist, but he shoulda known you don’t make the story about you

shoulda have just focused on the other stuff from season 4 with the growth of Michael from the kids

what i always thought was funny about this scene is how how dominic west's uk accent comes out @ :48 when he says "tony montana"

also the part @ 1:28 where the swat guy just leads the guy out with his arm around his shoulder after daniels knocks on the door like "c'mon buddy, it's over" .. i die everytime, lmaoooo

but now everytime i think of lance reddick i think of this... btw did you all know lance reddick makes pretty good music also..

Sad thing is, without the newspaper (especially the BS with Templeton) and then the BS with mcnulty the story is there in season 5

just focus on everything happening with marlo vs prop joe and then the Greeks with a little Avon thrown in.. could explore slim Charles more.. explore Michael more

then you have everything with the politics and the police department and the players we knew

the depth was all there

Wish the newspaper angle had more time to develop. I feel like it would have played out a lot better with more time

I thought Gus’ character was dope and had a lot more to show but the storyline felt haphazard when trying to conclude everything.

Show had more to give than 5 seasons though. That was the biggest problem out of anything

I mean something similar happened when Simon himself was at the sun.. but the show took it a lot further than what seemingly happened with that

but it just added an unnecessary element when a lot of shhh was already going down and you only had 10 episodes

Initially was supposed to be 13 and then cut to 10 I believe? I just think if viewership wasn't so bad that plot plays out better and maybe we get a 6th season. It's easy to say they should have scrapped it but there seemed to be alot of moving parts happening at the time to wrap this all up

i just don’t get why he played the templeton part that way

I mean I see the angle of looking at the environment from a different perspective as they had continuously done throughout the course of the series.. but there was just a better way to do it

mcnulty seeing string in a college class always got me
he wanted to turn the street money into (his mind probably) an empire, he had a vision but his ruthlessness caught up with him

What was the reason for it ending @ the time it was cancelled?

Def needed a season with lone wolf Michael, Slim and Fat Face Rick as the new kingpins and Marlo inevitably crashing out

would have been dope to see more Avon and Wee Bey in prison + Stringer just kinda popped up outta nowhere knowing Clay Davis and ****. They shoulda showed that process
