Official Warriors Off Season Thread

if we don't get Elton Brand as part of the deal, no way we trade Baron to the Clippers.

Baron to the Clips for their pick, Corey M. and Sean Livingston's expiring contracts

Although if you think about it Livingston is the perfect player to compilement Ellis. He car run the point in the offense AND because he is big enough, play Don the opposing team's sg, allowing Monta to guard the point.

Come on, man. Livingston is a stick.

Him and Ellis would be the smallest, most anorexic backcourt in the league.

Hmm, the Clip's pick could be a top 5 pick

But i probably wouldn't do it.

So it's Shaun Livingston's and Corey Maggette's expiring contracts for Baron's expiring contract? Why trade expiring contracts for expiringcontracts? It just doesn't make sense to me. Plus, we're banking on Livingston who has yet to play a full season? Why though? I think that proposedtrade (if indeed it's a top 5 pick) is just stupid for the Clippers to do. In this draft, a top 5 pick is too valuable and something you don't tradealong with Shaun and Corey for a Baron Davis.

I still don't see this being a realistic trade...

Livingston is a unrestricted FA; Maggette is a restricted free agent.

I can't believe dude said Livingston is big enough to guard 2's, dude onlyweighs 182 lbs.

keep Baron in Oakland!!!! it's not his fault Don Nelson drove him into the ground this past season. W/o Baron Warriors=the garbage they have been for thepast 15+ years

show me.

i'm trippin' it was from the mercury:
Bill Simmons: (12:19 PM ET ) I think they're going to trade Davis. Just a gut feeling. He has some miles on him and he wore down in the final month of the season - not a good sign for the next few years - and they need that money to pay the other 2 guys. I don't see them going into next year with a $76 million payroll. The Clips seem like a natural fit for him - they have a high pick and could basically get it done if it's Livingston, Maggette (both expiring contracts) and the pick. I think I'd do that if I'm the Clips as long as the pick wasn't top-2.

the commercial is hilarious. i wonder was it made before or after the playoffs...looks like before cause baron's hair isnt that out of control

if that pick is top 3, then of course the clips would hesitate. but a trade like that would be

, but risky. and i doubt clips/w's would wanna tradewithin the division to begin with.and no brand=there's less point to make a trade with them.

So because Bill Simmons thinks we're going to trade Davis, it's a legit rumor? Have Mullin and Baylor evendiscussed something like this? It's all speculation on Simmons' part and I'm just not getting my hopes up. Dude's just talking out the

like we do... putting trades together like Harrington + Pietrus + POB for J. O'Neal.

We need the money to "pay the other 2 guys"? Who? Monta and Andris? I thought that's why we traded J-Rich to allow us room to make thesesignings. I thought that's why we didn't give Pietrus and Barnes long term deals or the money they were asking for to allow us room to make thesesignings. Does Simmons even think before he types?

Haha damn, beat me to it.
That commercial was pretty funny.

But damn, I wouldnt trade Baron Davis at all.
He's been such an important factor for our team on AND off court.

I like our team chemistry from 06/07 as well as 07/08,
but when we sent J-Rich away, seemed like we were definitely missing more than a scorer.
Losing Baron would only lose even more team chemistry possibly causing us to crumble and make us back at where westarted.

I say we keep Baron, it's just my opinion.

EDIT: I would ALSO hate seeing Don Nelson leave; he's done wonders for this team. Sure he might not have played our rookies
as often as we'd like, but he did get us to the playoffs. Firing him is like biting the hand that's been feeding you.
