Maybe that's because Uruguay would've been out of the tournament, so changing the rules for a player out of the tournament wouldn't have any point whatsoever. But don't worry: They're not beating Holland without Suarez (or would've with him while we're at it), so adjusting a 2 game ban will prove pointless anyway.

Schweinsteiger has been Great right now.  Simply put on a clinic against Argentina.

One of the requirements on NT is to hate on a top athlete.

It was clear that Argentina lacked a strategy. I think Maradona's entire strategy since he's taken over has been, " Hey guys, you're a great bunch of footballers. Just go out, have fun and play." That doesn't work against top flight teams who do have organization and similarly skilled players.

If Spain loses it's gonna be on PK's or a 1-0 game .If they win, expect 3+ goals to nil.
As crazy as it sounds, I don't see Spain winning this game if they don't score within the first 15 min. All of the pressure is on them.
Paraguay will play a tough match looking to go to PK's.

nah,i'ma tell you why...
it's because a lot of people, even the media said that this was gonna be his World Cup...
how he was gonna be the GOAT and all that talk...

frankly,no one cares how many players you dribble past,or how you draw opposition defenders out of their positions...
you're a striker, and your job is to score...
so no matter how you look at it,Messi failed miserably...

still,i honestly believe that he'll benefit from this...
Maradona got sent off in '82 against Brazil but 4 years later he captained an Argentina side to World Cup glory...

Maradona's naivety caught up with him..their talent got them to this point but his lack of strategy was their eventual downfall..you cant play Germany the same way you play everyone else..it goes back to June 1st and team selections imo...their back line was always going to be their weakness, he should have played with two holding midfielders to protect them...maybe he doesnt need them against Greece or Nigeria but he needed them today..i would've loved to see Cambiasso and Mascherano together, to play Masch by himself is too much to ask against a side as well disciplined and technically proficient as Germany..the Germans picked them apart in midfield from the opening whistle...they didnt have a right back either, Zanetti would've been the obvious option..he had Jonas there for a few matches but he was clearly being played out of position, he is a winger not a defender...and Otamendi is a central defender..ive loved watching Argentina play but im honestly glad they bowed out the way they did

and Bastian Schweinsteiger was incredible today

i havent checked in since before we lost to argentina, and LOL yes im salty! i hate argentina, thats the only team in this continent i wont support, having said that, i have germany in my pool and i still dont want them to win it all, im gonna be rooting for uruguay/holland and spain...

aha is this a real post?
messi didn't fail, he didn't live up to the billing that everyone has set so high for him.
people don't realize at Barcelona he plays on one of the most stacked and premier teams in the world. A team that has a proven system that messi fits in with an amazing supporting cast. Unfortunately for Messi it seemed every team this WC focused squarely on him hoping that if they could shut him down they'd shut Argentina down. That wasn't the case for weaker teams which is why Argentina cruised through group play. Most of the goals Argentina had were all due to Messi's play. Whether it was the through ball or detracting attention from other players there's no doubt denying Messi's ability as the top player in the world.

However for Argentina he had a unstable coach who put together a team that didn't mesh well at all. Their defense was horrendous and when it came to playing a team like Germany that moves the ball quickly, gets back on defense like they're the berlin wall, and has a Blitzkreig like counter attack, there's no chance. Their style of offense didn't help him and everything had to go through Messi which becomes a problem. Unfortunatley for Messi this team just wasn't meant to be, he was given a recipe for disaster. He should have scored a goal or two, I wish he had.

I hope he comes back more mature and Argentina can figure their squad out. Germany should win this cup the way they're playing.

good maradona should be done. He just wanted to win a WC to say that he won it as a player and coach. Dude didn't do Argentina any favors, including Messi.
