That's what I've been thinking... even if you think Favors needs a couple years to develop, how long do you keep your top pick on the bench in favor of David Lee or Boozer? Then on the flipside, do you plan on paying a FA PF, 12 million a year to come off the bench?

Though we noted on Tuesday that the Nets likely weren't going to burn cap space on lesser names if they whiff on the likes of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, there is at least one name they have interest in: Tyrus Thomas.
Writes Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports: "Thomas is on New Jersey's radar as a fallback plan and could get a frontloaded offer sheet that would end his brief tenure with the Charlotte Bobcats, league sources said ... Thomas has expressed a desire to keep playing for Bobcats coach Larry Brown, but it seems like owner Michael Jordan and GM Rod Higgins are willing to let Thomas get an offer sheet before making a decision on paying him. The Bobcats would have seven days to match after Thomas signs an offer sheet."
If such as deal ever came to fruition, New Jersey would then have Thomas and rookie Derrick Favors to play at power forward to start next season. Though a talented duo, there could be consistency issues.

On Monday, we noted that Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers being back in the fold for the C's could mean that Ray Allen might re-join the team as well.
But according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, Allen is going to bide his time and wait on the free-agency big three.
He writes: "Allen will give the Celtics 'every chance of re-signing him,' but has been in contact with the top-tier free agents and wants to wait until they choose a team before making a decision, a person with knowledge of the situation told CBSSports.com Monday ... Allen's conversations with Celtics brass have been 'productive and cordial,' the person said. But Allen, like other free agents, can't have a complete picture of his value or the best situation for him until the likes of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh decide where to sign."
So if the Heat happen to re-land Wade and also get Bosh, it's possible if they have room for Allen, he could be interested.
Remember, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports has written that Pat Riley "is also intrigued with signing Boston's Ray Allen get a shooter on the floor with Wade."
So while Boston has Pierce and Rivers back in the fold, Allen is no sure bet to return just yet.

Earlier on Tuesday, we made light of a possible LeBron James-Chris Bosh pairing in Cleveland.
But right now, Bosh isn't agreeable to going to Cleveland in a sign-and-trade.
But say something changes, and Bosh decides, despite all his big-market hopes, that joining the King in Cleveland is his best bet.
What would that mean for Dwyane Wade?
With Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudemire, James and Bosh off the table, Wade would be left with Carlos Boozer or David Lee to pair with. And there's no guarantee the Heat land either of them.
If this all rings true, would Wade lean more in Chicago's direction?
Adding Wade to Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose and Luol Deng, along with potentially Lee or Boozer would be a very good starting five.
Of course, this is just conjecture at this point.
But if Wade is looking for another ring in this hypothetical scenario, logic stands to reason that Chicago might give him a better shot.

We surmised earlier on Tuesday that with the Magic agreeing to term with Chris Duhon, it likely meant Jason Williams' time in Orlando was over.
John Denton of Magic.com adds more to this line of thinking.
He writes: "The addition of Duhon, who will play behind starter Jameer Nelson, likely spells the end of Jason Williams' time in Orlando. Williams played well in his one season in Orlando, but could be close to returning to Miami where he spent a major portion of his NBA career."
The Heat have a gutted roster at the moment, so they could use some depth at point guard.
But remember, the team is also meeting with Raymond Felton this week, who has more value. But he'll also cost more than Williams.
We suppose it's possible the team could acquire both point guards, and the odds on that would increase if Mario Chalmers is dealt in a sign-and-trade somewhere.

As LeBron James nears a decision on just where he'll play next season, there's a growing segment that believes he's staying put in Cleveland.
A report from ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Tuesday seems to fall in line with that notion.
Broussard writes that the Raptors are agreeable to a sign-and-trade for Bosh to join LeBron in Cleveland, and that LeBron has tried to recruit Bosh to the Cavs.
But the holdup on this is Bosh's approval. Broussard reports that "Bosh remains cold to the idea of playing in Cleveland."
There has also been recent sentiment that Bosh and Dwyane Wade will team up in Miami, but Broussard reports the Raptors "will not cooperate in a sign-and-trade with Miami, which has no players in whom the Raptors are interested, according to sources."
If that's the case, Bosh could stand to make more money in a sign-and-trade with Cleveland, instead of signing with the Heat outright.
Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer adds: "Cavs simply have more sign-and-trade assets than Chicago and Miami, and can also take a bad Toronto contract. All depends on Bosh willingness."

"He's trying to help us out by waiting, which is good," Rivers told FanHouse Monday. "He's still our property so we can use that in a trade or something. He's doing a great thing for us."
Wallace was due to make $6.32 million next season and $6.79 million in 2011-12. However, that will come off the books to any team that acquires him -- if he takes a zero buyout.

Bonnell writes: "The Knicks will take a hard look at signing Raymond Felton, but don't be surprised if Luke Ridnour becomes their point guard, after New York committed to a huge contract for Amare Stoudemire. They like Felton. But they'd prefer to sign a point guard to a short-term deal, and that probably isn't to Felton's benefit. Ridnour has fewer options, so he'd logically take the chance for the exposure he'd get as a starter in New York."
FanHouse reports Felton will also meet with the Heat this week.

If the Nets holdover cap space for the summer of 2011, it's possible they could be duking it out with the Pacers, who are poised for cap space next summer, as well as the Bulls and Knicks, if they end up not adding more significant salaries to their rosters this summer.

Considering Toronto has 30 million extra as their leverage, it will be interesting to see where Bosh ends up. Rumors are Toronto is not willing to S&T him to Miami, and want Noah if he is to be S&T to Chicago. Bosh options are limited, how is he is going to get the full max plus go to the team he wants, without the Raptors wanting the pieces from those teams. In the end I think he loses out on the extra 30 million and will sign with Wade wherever he ends up.

if they offer Lee or boozer and big contract there a lock to go to NJ, so why draft favors then sign one of them to a long term deal?
