I've never really followed Wes Johnson... How good is he? Or how much promise/talent does he have? Minus young age..

IMO he is garbage.
Absolutely horrible swing man.
Young and athletic, sure.
Can't play a lick of defense and he couldn't shoot a rock into the ocean even if he was standing on a boat in the middle of the Pacific.

But hey, that's just my opinion.
There's a reason he was available for so cheap....

He is what he is... a servicable wing player who we got on the cheap that im sure someone else wouldve forked out the mmle at least for his services.

I remember a game wes johnson went off from 3 or I'm thinking of someone else. I think he played for minny right?

Call me crazy but I'd take a chance on Beasley if the Suns waive. Dude can play but is an idiot. He's played on nothing but young, rebuilding teams. With vets like Kobe, Nash Pau I think they can get him to act right. We we're minutes from acquiring him back in 2011 when we got Sessions but Minn. backed out literally at the last second. I feel like he would've been the difference that year.

Hope L.O gets right :\
LakersNation posted this rumor that the Lakers offered him a spot if he goes through rehab.

What I would like to see 8o

Nash/Blake/Farmar
Kobe/Meeks
Young/Beasley/Johnson
Odom/Hill
Pau/Kaman/Sacre

I would not start Odom over Hill...

What Hill does works better for the Starters than it does with the backups.

Don't even want Odom anymore.

As for Beasley... Pass...

I'd take Beasley and Odom in a heartbeat.

Beasley can create and his own shot. Odom might rekindle his love and focus for the game back with Kobe.

Not all bad apples can be fixed, regardless of what legends are on the team to guide him.

Beasley is proving he's one of those bad apples that can't be fixed. He's certainly proved that more than he's proved he can be a productive NBA player.

Why do people look at him as a risk worth taking? Why is he viewed as having "potential"? Just because he was the 2nd overall pick one year, so he must have some talent we haven't seen? He hasn't come close to replicating the success he had in college. He's had five years. He showed 'flashes' like any young player... but the fact that those flashes are coming fewer and father in between is a red flag.

Trashy person, trashy player. Asking him to be both a decent player and a decent citizen are two pipe dreams. Chancing one pipe dream on coming true might be worth a risk... but two?

The only season he played above 30 minutes he put up 19 & 6 on 45% shooting... Talent is far from the question he has proven that he's can most def play good basketball in the NBA

The questions come in about his character and how mature he'll be. I personally think that with someone like Kobe & Nash around he will learn properly. With that said he will ALWAYS be high if playing in LA.

I guess my problem is that I don't think there are questions about his character and maturity. He's been a consistent problem across multiple teams for years... I think we know his character by now. I don't think it's a matter of growing up cause he's had plenty of time to do that.

I would normally be open to taking chances that guys can turn it around, either their performance or attitude... but to me Beasley has done more than enough to prove he's a headcase, one in need of a drastic attitude change that probably won't be coming along anytime soon.

If his character is ever gonna change it's gonna take more than rubbing elbows with Steve, Kobe and Pau. Those three couldn't even get through to Dwight Howard; and Beas is a problem in WAY more ways than him :lol

For the minimum why not take a chance? Team is gonna get blown up next summer anyways. First sign of dude acting up you cut him.

Agreed with everything.

Let the team stand as it is(barring any major injuries).

Why take opportunity from Hill or Kelly... Or Young and Wes.. All have things to prove and are much hungrier. Including Hill who went through hell to recover 4 months early from a hip injury.

There's a reason a team like Phoenix who have only Eric Bledsoe on the team are willing to eat $9mil of Beasley to get rid of him.

If the Lakers felt the need to add more pieces, there are plenty of other chances worth taking at the minimum over Michael Beasley.

Exactly.

I understand why it sounds attractive to add Michael Beasley, former 2008 2nd Pick, to the end of your bench. But all that's good for is building a team on paper or in 2K13 to show your friends what a stacked team of well-known players you can put together.

It's a well-known name. Well-known names don't mean anything on the court. In reality he's more problems than potential at this point.

You're risking exposing his BS to the youngsters. Pissing off the vets. Disrupting the locker room. Alienating your fans. Not worth it.

I normally wouldn't be this adamant... but I think very low of Michael Beasley the person. I wouldn't want my team to associate themselves with him and pay him actual money.

Has nothing to do with being a " well known" name or a 2k13 roster. It's about adding a player that has a little size and can play.Especially at his position going againsts KD, Lebron Melo etc. You are not gonna stop them but you will have a guy that matches up better and can at least make them work on D if he plays like he's capable offensively. If the vets are ok with it then there is no problem. As for alienating fans I highly doubt that's gonna happen because of one player. We forgot how we hate a player but then love him once he starts hooping on our squad. Remember Matt Barnes? Or better yet Artest? People were screaming that they didn't want him and he would also piss off vets and alienate fans. Ya he was a little older but over all it turned out well. Again for the vet min I sign him. Like I said he's never really been on a veteran team and maybe that's all he needs to get himself back inline.

Ok, I hear where you're coming from, but it's because you have a little more faith that he can actually keep himself in check than I do.

To me he's proved he's worthless, as much as a player can to a guy watching from afar on TV. (I don't think we could rely on him to be good enough to make KD and Melo work, for one thing)

Beas' character problems are a different world than Metta (yes, the guy who ran into the stands) and Matt Barnes.
