That Foxcatcher teaser got me thinking Carrell could play a creepy *** villain/bad guy. Serial killer, maybe the Penguin.

I just thought Penguin cuz of the fake nose he has in FoxcatcherThat Foxcatcher teaser got me thinking Carrell could play a creepy as villain/bad guy. Serial killer, maybe the Penguin.
I think he could. I thought he was very good in the most dramatic role I've ever seen him in -- Little Miss Sunshine. I don't know about a comic villain though. Something darker and more subtle would be better for him. In fact, I think I remember reading somewhere that part of the reason they cast him for 40 Year Old Virgin is that he has the look of someone who could be a serial killer.
I feel like Steve Carrell in that kind of role would be more like Robin Williams in Death to Smoochy than De Niro in Cape Fear.
Yeah I think that's what ONeg meant when he said Carrell could reach Robin on the dramatic side of things.I feel like Steve Carrell in that kind of role would be more like Robin Williams in Death to Smoochy than De Niro in Cape Fear.
Have you seen Robin Williams in One Hour Photo though? Or Insomnia? I think Carrell could pull of something like that.
Seen a few not so good movies lately; Bachelorette (w/ Snaggletooth, chick from Masters of Sex, the Pam lookalike not Amy Adams, and the fat Aussie chick), The Kitchen (w/ a lot of ppl you'd recognize from network teen dramas and that chick from that 70s Show not Mila Kunis and that chick from Compliance).
I'm about to watch Killing Season just for Travolta's bad Russian accent

Man. Much respect for you too but I tried, I tried. I need a break just from the attempt.Seen a few not so good movies lately; Bachelorette (w/ Snaggletooth, chick from Masters of Sex, the Pam lookalike not Amy Adams, and the fat Aussie chick), The Kitchen (w/ a lot of ppl you'd recognize from network teen dramas and that chick from that 70s Show not Mila Kunis and that chick from Compliance).

Maaaaaaan, quit watchin all that worthless crap, and power thru Fast 1-6.
I know you respect ONeg and BigJ, and both of them are in full support of the Fast series, get on board with us, plenty of room.
Besides, you got less than a year to be ready for Fast 7, which is going to be a huge draw. And I don't just mean Paul. The story for 7 is going to be epicness, and must see theater.
1 thru 6, and 5 and 6 have after credit scenes, you have to get thru those, they are very important.
@VenomLyrix - Have you seen the new Jon Favreau movie "Chef"? If not, have you heard anything about it? I've seen some trailers recently and it looks interesting.
hearing very good things, got invited to a screening I couldn't make.
Very positive
I don't get the FF love, I've seen all of them but I never have the urge to watch any again even Fast Five.
CP's doing a little too much.
The og The Fast and the Furious is a cable classic.
The quotables and thin line where you can't tell if it's so bad it's good or just so good is rare.
2 Fast 2 Furious is a shell of the first, with only half the original cast and half the charm. So bad it's kinda good. So ghetto that it's pretty charming. Not lowkey iconic like the first one, cuz they ****** up not bringing the original cast back, and the movie just flat out sucked a lot of the time.
Tokyo Drift...completely new cast (), and not as much suck as the 2nd one. I think people were hyped when it came out cuz it was better than the 2nd one, drifting was cool and Asians were getting their props. And Han was that guy. But I saw it again after Fast Five and it's basically a straight to DVD movie compared to the first 2.
Fast and Furious brought it back. They figured out the simplest **** in film history. You have an ensemble that people vibed with and loved...you bring them all back. Not 1...all of em. So they finally did, and it felt right, like it hadn't since the first one. It's polished. It feels modern compared to the other ones, and it's a decent flick...still bad good, but some solid good in there.
Then Fast Five happened. By the time you watch the others and get a feel for what it is this series hits, this is gold standard. This one of the greatest action comedies ever imo. I love this damn movie. And what's amazing is, they take pieces from all the other sequels and make them so good in this, you'll convince yourself the whole series is better than it really is. The perfect mix of nostalgia, campiness, jokes that hit and legit unexpected ludicrous badassery. Think Bad Boys 2.
And it doesn't exist on it's own. You can't really just jump in and enjoy the 5th one right. It's holding the first one down from when you were young and never expecting it would grow with you and make the greatest comeback in film history. And at the same time...The Rock's career basically lines up with the FF movies, where it's like son...why haven't you taken over?...what the **** with this tooth fairy ****? And Vin's too.
Then the Fast and Furious Six is good. It could've been amazing, but it was just a good followup. More on Fast and Furious' level than Fast Five. It didn't flow all that well, and they story wasn't tight like the 5th one, and the jokes weren't that great.
Very underrated imo...a part of what made Fast Five such a phenomenon was the soundtrack. Danza Kuduro was that jam all summer off that movie. And Don Omar and Tego Calderon who did the track, had funny parts in the movie to. I think them and their music was the glue of that movie, so when they didn't come back for the 6th one, it was really missed...at least by me.
And now I'm doing too much. Just watch em...and if you don't wanna watch em all, watch 1, 4 and 5. That's a ill trilogy imo.
I don't get the FF love, I've seen all of them but I never have the urge to watch any again even Fast Five.
Same here. FF series is garbage.
Take a hike.
Just kidding.
No, really tho, kindly show yourself out.
Same with Final Destination.
