Lucas comes up with the stories and creates these things. Then he has somebody else write the screen play and direct the movie. Just because somebody else wrote the screenplay and directed doesn't mean they created it.Zik, why do you give Lucas credit for Indiana Jones?
Kasdan wrote it, Spielberg directed it.
What am I missing? Cuz Lucas came up with the name?
Everybody knows George Lucas created Indiana Jones How is this being challenged? How much do you want to strip from him man? It's a good thing creator rights are pretty clear.
It's the same case with Willow. George didn't direct or write the screenplay but the story was solely created by him. You can think of it like with book adaptions. The creator is still the creator. I'm pretty sure the majority of Lucasfilm movies were created by George. You wouldn't say somebody else created James bond cuz the author didn't direct or write the screenplay.
They're his creation and regardless the rights are owned by Lucasfilm. So now Disney can make w/e Indiana Jones movies they want.
