Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I'm saying you can do similar criticizing of the OT just from a story perspective about inconsistencies (not expectations) the same way you did for the PT about what you expected based off of the OT but that's not the only thing you spent criticizing in those quotes.

Suffice to say, when you don't like something as much as you did you can come up with essays upon essays on how to fix it instead of just accepting what it is.

I'd call in to question what you were told about the PT. I took what was talked about in the OT as things that happened in the past. Not tidbits of another trilogy of movies set in the past. Like after RotJ, I wouldn't have assumed the Clone Wars, Anakin's turn to the dark side, who he killed literally or figuratively, etc. all happened around the same time.

Had a chance to catch The Big Short today, really enjoyed it. That pitch scene had me dying. Look at my quant!

The Man from U.N.C.L.E

6/8

Guy Richie's style and comedy made me like this film. Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill's rivalry is played well by the two. The oneupmanship is funny,

Man from UNCLE was OK, 5/8..

Thought it could have been better, especially with what Vaughn did with kingsman (Vaughn was his producer on snatch and lock, stock and two smoking barrels)

Just expect more from Ritchie

concussion brought in $7.8 million, only a million more than that disgraceful remake of point break. I guess their main marketing point of it being "controversial" didn't help much.

Budget seemingly wasn't that big. Box office mojo says its brought in 25 mill on a 35 mill budget it'll probably end up around 50 mill or so. It smells more like awards bait than an actual project to sell a ton

Any of y'all seen Anomalisa?

Saw it yesterday, it was suprisinglly captivating. The stop motion was incredibly impressive.

did anyone see Legend?  Man what a miss, Tom Hardy, british gangster movie did it wind up so bland
It was good, Hardy as the Kray brothers was well done but yeah it was missing something. Story seemed to veer in to being more of a love story and how the crazy bro just ****** things up for them. They didn't seem as big as they were suppose to be.

Began watching Everest last night, couldn't finish. I'm probably an hour in. I already know I'm going to be disappointed. Probably because I read Into Thin Air, which was amazing. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoyed the movie.

Just another action fantasy movie to me.

Never was in to Warcraft. Didn't even think they'd make a movie on it :lol

forgot about: everybody wants something (hopefully it's as good as dazed and confused)

is the whole knight of cups movie shot in that dream sequence-type of narration and movement? i turned it off 15 minutes in because it was dragging. is it worth watching in its' entirety?

It can be very difficult to get into Terrance Malik films. Often times when people don't know what they're getting into, they leave disappointed.

this might sound silly or like too much work, but I've found the best way is to just force your way through the movie with no expectations going into it. Think about key concepts that stood out to you. Then read a
Few different articles about the movie and what themes he was trying to get across. See if you picked up on any of Those things, then give it another watch. There are so many layers to his movies, it's hard to just veg out while watching, you gotta put some work in.

If it's possible to have less than 0 interest/excitement that's where I'm at. I have no connection to Warcraft aside from having heard of it, so to me the preview looks like someone decided to make a movie that tells the story of variant looking Orcks from LOTR. Why would I want to see that? Doubt I'll even watch it once it comes to HBO, etc.
