Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Gonna catch Ingrid Goes West either today or tomorrow, just waiting to see if I win the Hamilton lottery for tomorrow

Also movies really have to do better with some of these titles these days.

I simply can not watch gladiator. My boy swears by it and I trust his recommendations but it's just too boring in the beginning and I have zero interest in that type of historical film.

I watched New Twin Peaks last week, I hadn't seen S1, S2 or the Movie.

I'm now watching S1 and S2.
It was pretty cool to watch S3 before 1 and 2.
I find S1 and S2 more enjoyable than S3 but I get the feeling that is because afterall, I really did need to watch S1-2 before jumping into S3.
Looking forward to a rewatch of S3 after fully catching up.

There are definitely levels to this TV thing.

Lynch, he's got the upup downdown leftright leftright ba selectstart to them all, though.
That Level that you reach on the OG SUperMario Bros when you've jumped over the flagpole at the end of the stage, that is Lynch's level.

The show doesn't miss on anything.
He did this in 1990.0]
I'm passed impressed, I'm watching everything he has starting with a rewatch of Mullholland Dr. And moving right on to Eraser head, then I'll just knock them out in chronological order.

My man was stealing tricks from the Gods, because this is an outright Pinnacle.

I'm on ep11 of S2 by the way.

On the 8/8 scale, this show is the mold that was broken.
It ranks #44 on IMDB's All Time.....such disrespect.
Do those voters even Televison.

This season of Queen of the South has been great.

Things are getting lit with Teresa vs. Camila.

Sucks for you.

I don't want to post in the marvel netflix thread, to avoid spoilers...

But my two cents about The Defenders so far...

Pretry dope, man.

I'm two episodes in. Going to watch the third tonight. And then finish the rest sometime next week

Checked out The Hitman's Bodygaurd.

I was pleasantly surprised on how enjoyable it was. Pretty damn funny, decent action, and good chemistry between Reynolds and Jackson.

The plot and villain however ......ehhhh

You trolling with this bro?? Gladiator is like the easiest movie to get into. You can't wait like 15 minutes for the action to pick up? :rollin :rollin

Just sit down and watch it bro, it's pretty fast paced :lol

I tried 3 times. First two I got 10 minutes into it, the other night I got 11 minutes into it. Felt like I was on 8th grade social studies class.

Jesus Christ, that movie picks up after like 20 minutes :lol

I've never heard of someone NOT being able to get into it :lol

LMAOOO @ not being able to get into Gladiator.

Your'e letting preconceived notions stop you from enjoying a great film.

Can't say I would recommend hitmans bodyguard, but I wouldn't say to not see it either

Yo, Dolby theatres visuals are A1. I saw the Ragnarok trailer, and the colors were popping.

Also, movies are showing way more trailers now. The previews took 20 minutes.

Well, I guess the greatness has ended.
I don't know what this goofy **** is that I'm watching now.
At first, I didn't mind that this Season kept inching closer to the "silly" side but dude, Nadine not only thinks she's 18 but she's on the wrestling team?

Agent Cooper gets fired from the FBI?
All the Men got their it's cut off.

Ben Horne thinks he's a war General?

Windom Earle's whole storyline?

Windom Earle's character is so dumb, pointless.

Andy and Richard are picknicking with the little boy form the Big Nrother program?

James has left to some weird Estate/Farm with some hot blonde?

Leo has regained consciousness and ability to move and walk and has attacked Shelly?

Everybody is sleeping with everybody's gf/bf?

THe raid on the "fake drug buy" that they had Hank's friend from Prison do?

Major Briggs whole act (premise was good, but they fced this all the way up)

That "witch lady young red head girl" that has everyone mesmerized and killed the old man during sex at the Hreat Notthern hotel? Why is she so captivating and "spellbinding"?

The Mayor, brother of the Man she killed during sex walking into the police station and pointing a rifle at her and then Agent Cooper locking them in the room ALONE! and the Mayor is captivated and forgives her?

Bobby is groping on Audrey and Audrey doesn't want him but they act like it's some "big lead on" for the audience or something?

WTF in TF dude....I just kept watching thinking, its Twin Peaks, weird is good.
Man this **** iss not good right now.
There are 8 eps left of this S2(I'm on ep 14) and I don't know how they trim all this goofy **** away and get back to the meat and potatoes.

I don't think I can finish.
Folks said the Movie could be skipperd/wasn't good.
Man lump part 2 of Season2 in there as well, this **** is trarsh.

On the 8/8 scale, this is an 0/10
Pissed AF right now G.
Onto Defenders, I can't do this at all.

Defenders: *sigh, maybe I'm still reeling from having to quit TwinPeaks when I thought I had 8-9 episodes left but......

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to put up with this editing for 10+ episodes. In the opening scene there is a tunnel fight, and it was awful. I couldn't see the fight. Not because it was too dark, but because they kept changing the camera view every time a punch was thrown. When one punch takes a 4part edit it gets frustrating. Even the small chase where IronFist is running through the tunnel it (the camera)kept showing him running from the back then the front then the back again when he never changed directions. Then when he does change directions that takes 4 separate shots. It's an Action Series, give us a continuous shot and let us enjoy. :smh:

Slasher Films with Eli Roth

Eli Roth returns to help you get your scare on as he, his brother Gabe, film editor Mark Goldblatt and Y2J talk slasher films! And that means you'll get plenty of slasher film history and trivia from Eli - starting with the first movies made in Italy to the death of the slasher movie in the early 80s (and the role the Reagan assassination attempt may have played in that) to the slasher resurgence in the late 90s. They offer up favorite flicks, favorite death scenes, and their favorite A-list celebs who got their starts in the genre! They're also talking the original "Halloween," "Friday The 13th," and "Psycho," and discussing directors like Dario Argento, Wes Craven, and Brian De Palma

Yea.. this has been bugging me for a while. These "fight" scenes rely on cuts because the actors ain't about that life. It's why recent movies like the Raid and John Wick are more enjoyable.

Somebody posted this video earlier. This part explains why "martial arts" scenes in American films / tv shows are the way they are:

I'm only 3 episodes in but I felt the way most scenes was shot was fine. In fact there was maybe a fight or two where I felt they needed more cuts. I'd rather a scene be cut a certain way than use continuous shooting if the actors can't fight
