I know Horror season is over so I apologize for my lateness but I viewed The Exorcist (1973) this year (On Halloween) and I thought it was not only extremely scary, but at the same time a GREAT movie. Ellen Burstyn is such a talented actress. It didn’t seem like a 2 hour movie. It went by quick, probably because it was so interesting. I could only imagine the impact it had when it was first released in theaters. 8/8

A lot of people already know this but Linda Blair had a quick cameo as a member of the press in the OG Scream

Watched shinning again. Man Jack was a scary dude. I wish they showed him as a completely nice and sweet man to this darker side like the book. He always seemed like a prick :lol hotel got him easy.

He was an easy choice as Joker for the 89 film.

The pacing of the film was excellent.

Maybe Jack was scary from someone like Danny and Wendy’s point of view. I was waiting for someone Jack’s own size show up and slap the **** out of him.

Kubrick pissed King off with his adaptation :lol

Watching this tonight to reminisce over a time where there weren’t a gazillion super hero movies lmao!

Was not a good superhero movie but its was a good character focused movie.

Really reflected and delved in to Bruce Banner's childhood trauma and abusive father. Also treated becoming Hulk like a disease and at the same time the manifestation of his anger.

Eric Bana did his thing.

Not a lot of action which is why Incredible Hulk went harder in that area.

I’ve watched this movie maybe 5 times? Release date in theaters I was really let down. Then superhero movies started getting formulaic, so I revisited it and I loved it on the second watch.

The comic-panel style really stuck out on 2nd watch. Thought that was well done and unique at the time. The fever dream style hallucinations were cool at the time also. Those parts were like Dr. strange mind bending concepts to me.

Every watch since then, I get closer to my first reaction on my first viewing. Which is that I get what they were TRYING to do, but as a whole, it was poorly executed. PARTS were well done, but some parts were just awful. Some CGI was good, some was PlayStation 1 quality. I think it all comes down to editing. If they had a way to release a re-edited “snyder cut” a couple years after initial release, then the goods might have come to light. They chose to just do a full reboot so we’ll never know.

I agree Bana did his thang. But ALSO Connely Bae was great. Sam Elliot did alright. Nick Nolte KILLED IT.

The Shining and One Flew Over the ****oo’s Nest had to have been his audition tapes for his role as the Joker. Manic AF

The problem of it was the pacing, the cgi, the way how the fight with the absorbing man was orchestrated which I found lame, the ridiculous dog monsters.

Limited series premiering on FX on November 17th.

Jesse Eisenberg, Claire Danes, Adam Brody, and Lizzy Caplan are in 1 episode it says on IMDB  they’re all prominently in the promo for the show. Maybe it’s one of those things where we’re not supposed to know what episodes they’re in?

There’s a bunch of others top-billed listed as being in 8 episodes.

No.

I kinda just missed the train there. Saw some actors among the cast I liked and am attracted to but never dove in. It was only until recently I discovered it was an anthology series.

I literally have never caught an episode and barely a scene.

Nothing against it given what little I know I just never could make time for it. Plus I have a knee jerk aversion to horror more times than not.

I saw a season 10 years ago for the first time, Coven, it was just with someone I had to, second was one at Cali a camp in ‘84, and now this year’s. You can always jump in or pick a season to watch.

Watching 16 Candles. The high school dance scene. A lot of gold in there, but more than anything it should be put in a time counsel for suburban white people dancing
