Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I can’t think of a film I’ve seen in which Gary Oldman appeared that he didn’t completely nail his role, starting with Drexel in True Romance (which I think is the 1st thing I saw him in).

Fantastic actor with crazy range.

Gary Oldman in Leon The Professional is the second best bad guy of all time, second only to Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men.

Legit had Dan Aykroyd in Black face on Trading Places

FINALLY, Barbie is on MAX!

I’ve tried once since COVID, to go to the THEATER and I just can’t do it anymore. I’ve this new phobia of the seats and I get this overwhelming feeling like I’ve setting it a germ co reed spank bank type THEATRE with Blacklight Bugs all over.

It’s ruined a great part of my LIFE.

Very bad.

The whole concept of that sequence was that everyone’s costume was ridiculous at first sight - JLC in German outfit but saying she was Swedish, Eddie with the beef jerky and the Irish Priest drinking whiskey. So I think the filmmakers thought that Akroyd’s “disguise” was on the same level of stupid, but it’s clearly well beyond that.

Yeah totally awful but different times.

We gotta dissect this a-friend a-friend and cure you. Cam Diaz convo I'm here for. Gotta see which films I've seen of hers.

Brooklyn 99 is totally worth a watch if you haven’t seen it. The cold opens are funny, the story arc is pretty good and things like the heist episodes are great.

Braugher was amazing in it - I particularly like his “punk” delivery.

I’m not familiar with a lot of his other work but he was definitely gone too soon.

I saw a Reddit thread earlier where someone posted a picture of Tarantino’s wish list of actors for Pulp Fiction - there were some interesting ones but what stood out was that Oldman was a choice for most of the roles - and I struggle to say that he wouldn’t have nailed every one of them.

Movie thread...I have some confessions.

1) I don't know what Guillermo Del Toro looks like...so whenever his name is mentioned I have the mental image of Benicio Del Toro

2) Whenever It's A Wonderful Life (Christmas movie) is mentioned...I always confuse it with Life is Beautiful (1997)

🙃
