Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I loved it like you, and for a lot of the same reasons

But when you say it was a cheap route, I would say it was almost a too obvious route and they took it, but I do think it’s interesting however where they want to take it now that they did it

Rock/Efron Baywatch was a straight up cinematic gem. Had me filled with a sense of wonder throughout. I laughed, I cried, I was inspired. So much movie magic. I can’t take it. Every so often I reminisce about that film and it brings a massive smile to my face
Same!
So why the sad react on my post about it?
Pretty sure I know why; just want to see what you give as a reason.

Smile 2s biggest issue for me was the rules of the monster seemed ill defined. When huge chunks of the movie were hallucinations or not real, it made it hard to care and follow.

When her friend was driving and not there, I was concerned for other drivers that were just trying to get home from work

"Substance" might be getting stellar reviews, but honestly, I found it underwhelming. Despite all the praise, this movie didn’t work for me. I understand the focus on self-esteem and the deeper psychological layers it was aiming for, but I just couldn’t connect with it—and the ending left me more baffled than anything else.

As for it being labeled a "horror" movie? That’s laughable. This is more like a dark, gruesome drama at best. The horror label feels misleading and oversells what this film actually delivers. Anyway, end of rant—thanks for reading!
Nice to read an opinion like this.
I was starting to believe I was missing out on something special.
I think I can hang on a bit longer before paying for it now.

I don’t want to discourage anyone from watching it. Taste is so subjective, and there have been plenty of movies I’ve enjoyed despite bad reviews. If you’re excited about it, go for it! You might find a connection I missed.

Yea I feel you.
I try and make it a point not to read up on any film before making my own conclusions but when it comes to this thread I read everybody. Well, mostly everyone.

All the opinions in here have been praise. High praise. I almost paid 22bucks for it at home this weekend simply because I found it on a bootleg HD site and damn forgot the site before I could watch and was damn scrambling and about to pay before I finally said Nah, I’ll wait.

I'm going to pretend this is a continuation of Lashana Lynch's character from No Time to Die.

Has anybody started the New Season of LIONESS?
Season1 was really good.
I think I’ll wait until the season wraps since LIONESS is week to week.
For now I’ll hop on DIPLOMAT S2 that just dropped in its entirety. Also really good.
I’ve been immersed in another arena for the last 45days and I haven’t watched much television or film. I can’t wait to hop back on my Black Mirror for some mindless entertainment.

Oh yea….
PENGUIN
I think the season finale is this weekend.
I might vacation the rest of the week and just take a load off.

Decided to revisit Casino (1995) last night. As a result, I’ve now got House of the Rising Sun stuck in my head.

Not that I’m complaining. Good song

I really like this scene with Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci. It really showcases the chemistry between the two actors

Some great directing by Martin Scorsese

”Normally, my prospects of coming back alive from a meeting with Nicky were 99 out of 100. But this time, when I heard him say, “a couple of hundred yards down the road,” I gave myself 50/50
