Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The General from 24 Redemption, Candyman, The Rock… he was a +1 rating whenever I saw him
Mr. Wright, Kurn son of mogh and elder Jake, William Bludworth, Darkseid so many awesome roles that he always killed.

**** he even played Venom in the last Spiderman game from last year :lol :hat

Feels a bit surreal because I've been following him on Twitter for years too and he tweeted almost daily until last week. Had no idea he was sick :/

He would always be shown flowers from fans regularly.

They just announced a new Final Destination recently too

Well **** I played Spiderman 2 :lol that game had more of an impact on me than any of the movies

Reviews (short, or otherwise, of the last five movies I've seen)

Screen Shot 2024-11-08 at 10.52.21 PM.png

1. Tuxedo [2002]

What a pile of ****. I only watched this because, I think, the commercial aired during the VHS of the terrific movie, Clockstoppers. The only redeeming quality was four (FOUR!) Jackie Chan one-liners. This was clearly a Jackie coming-off-Rush-Hour-2 movie and Jennifer Love Hewitt meeting each other at a weird time in their lives, like Fight Club. If you look at JLH's resume after this it's Garfield and....

Jason David Isaacs (who played Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series) was great, in limited time. There was some even PG-13 humor that would not be allowed nowadays. :lol

2. Over The Top [1987]

I've never seen a movie so dedicated to semi-trucks. In all its strengths. I mean it. It made me wanted to be a driver if not for the automated-AI truck, South Park "they're coming for your jobs" stuff. Some great father-son stuff after his son stopped being such a little **** (about 20 minutes in). Love how they introduced the 8 finalists in the arm-wrestling competition with interviews in front of the award-winning semi truck.

The mother added such an element. Didn't really care for Loggia who shouldn't really even get much acclaim for anything. I gotta figure out if that arm wrestling trick actually works.

3. Cry-Baby (1990)

I watched this **** on the treadmill. I was looking for better than Grease 2, but something watchable :lol

I got a very funny Johnny Depp comedy when the music wasn't going on :lol

And even when it was... there was unexpected comedy happening. Hatchet-Face, the Blonde (self-admitted) Cry Baby Skank, and Ricki Lake were just consistently loyal and unexpectedly funny.

Go Drapes. **** the Squares.

4. Planet Terror [2007]

I think Milano dancing at the beginning credits might be the hottest thing I've ever seen in a movie. I'm partially kidding.

Milano and Rodriguez's son (director of the son) killed this movie, carried it. LOL at the blonde's son doing what he did and then showing up after the credits on the beach. I have the best BBQ in Texas.

There was so much random **** in this. Odes to other movies.

I'm glad Michael Biehn was still doing well.

5. Michael Clayton [2007]

Tilda Swinton we divorced the first time I ever saw you act.

Arthur/Tom Wilkinson with the baker's dozen baguettes trying to get the 1-up on Clooney in the alley way... "I know your game" he says :rollin

Don't put a car bomb in a guy's car and let him drive into the farm country, and the blow it up when he goes to pet horses

"I am Shiva, God of Death"

This movie is terrible, I give it a 7 because I think Clooney was Michael Clayton just trying to get out of this movie.

Review my Review!

I just finished watching Daddy's Head, it starts off at a snail’s pace, and by the time any hint of suspense kicks in, it’s easy to have already checked out. For me, once it was over, my reaction wasn't just a simple "I didn’t like it", I was genuinely frustrated. Without diving too deep (to avoid spoilers), the movie offers some random jump scares, little explanation for anything that happens, and leaves you with zero closure. If you’re looking for a horror film that doesn't ties things up and doesn't offer a payoff, this one is for you!

Not a movie, but the "...Has Fallen" series released its new sequel, a TV show, "Paris Has Fallen". I am 10000% in.

Where at? Netflix, Hulu???

Canal+ (France) and Australian TV for now, but it will be on Hulu in the US shortly. I took to the high seas for now. First episode was legit. I think Gerrard Butler was a silent producer on it, but he is not in it. This has a tag team of a French bodyguard and MI-6 agent protecting the French Minister. Apparently, it's a huge hit in France, and one of the most popular shows on Canal+.

Getting real sick of these Fallen’s happening elsewhere brother

I’ve decided you’re full of bull and not on my side! You’re destroyed!

Nah but really idk what that is (unless I missed someone recommending) so I’ll see what it’s about

Strike Back was basically a tag team of a British and American special forces duo (ironically, the British guy was played by an American, and the American was played by an Australian) taking down international terrorists. They just had crazy missions, banged women, and had lots of shootouts. It was the ultimate Skinemax show, and aired alongside Banshee back in the mid-2010s. It's mindless action and sex, but really, really entertaining.

Note: don't watch the actual first season, though. It's very weird. It was pre-Hobbit Richard Armitage, and the tone was much darker. Only watch the Sullivan Stapleton/Phillip Winchester seasons.

My favorite male actors:

Leonardo DiCaprio
Denzel Washington
Phillip-Seymour Hoffman
Dev Patel
Barry Keoghan
Matthew McConaghey (is always coming)

My favorite female actors:

Cailee Spaney
Isabella Merced
Anna Kendrick
Kaitlyn Dever
Jenna Ortega
Emma Watson (act)

I think we have an advantage on one side of the gender ^ immediate above

Okay, so this show is literally just using the franchise name, and that's it. The violence is brutal, much more so than in the movies, and in many ways more ruthless. The main antagonist was the villain in a Mission Impossible movie, so he's very believable. It is basically a Mission Impossible movie, but as an ultra-violent limited series, with elements of Strike Back. Legit 11/10 on the guilty pleasure scale.
