Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

^^^ Yeah, Amercian Wedding was mostly below average with a few pretty funny parts, so 4 does seem a bit dicey. A lot of the jokes/themes that worked so well in the first 2 aren't really going to translate to characters will have to be well into their 30s by the time the movie comes out.

Alien/Monster movies are all bunched together for me... Godzilla is some kind of alien monster.. So was the Cloverfield thing...

my guess is the 8 refers to legs = big alien spiders...

well monster flicks maybe, but naw I'm talkin Alien invasion type @#$%.  Predator and Alien both made their ways down to Earth at some point, but like 15 Americans even knew about that crap.

I'm talkin on our doorstep, guns in hand, or fin or whatever they have, tryna bully us around.  With the world coming back at em with an "invade this" type attitude.

THAT's what I'm talkin about with these movies.  When the world can no longer bury it's head that we ain't the only ones roamin around in all the vast areas of space.  And when it's time to fight, which movie does it the best?  Battle LA gets my nod now.

Really?  That's kind of surprise.  I thought I read a few years back that he was in to clean living and didn't party all that much.  But I guess it should never be surprising to find out a celebrity is in rehab.  And he's in good company among the cast considering that Chris Klien, Tara Reid and Natasha Lyone also have all spent varying amounts of time in rehab.

I can't bring myself to watch it again. I went to an opening midnight showing and never saw those first 10 minutes coming.
All I took from it were some nice ideas, but it never really hit a stride like Borat. It gave away too much in the trailers and it really dragged between jokes. But then it was kinda hard to really take in the movie with that crowd and after the kidney punch beginning. So take that for what it is.

Did you guys watch this last night? I DVRed it and I'm watching it now. Definitely not one of the best.

Just got done with Snoop. I just about lost it when this dude said 'Trump is thinking about running for president in 2012. Why not? It wouldn't be the first time you ran a black family out of their home.'

Larry King and that deaf chick surprised me. Like this wasn't a really good one, but it was still funny.
When Lampenelli said 'You put up more worthless hotels than an autistic kid playing Monopoly.' !!!!!!!

I mean...Seth McFarlane called deaf lesbians, 'earmuffs.'

Like it was good. It was worth it just to watch Situation bomb. I was waiting for Jamie Foxx to come in and ruin him.

Another movie that kind of fits into this genre that I liked is the Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Accross the 8th Dimension -- a lost 80s classic, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086856/  There are no epic battle scenes or anything like that -- its a comedy -- but it is about aliens coming to the Earth, planning to take over and getting defeated.  If you're into quirky and offbeat comedy flicks, this one might be a winner for you.

NT check it out! --- http://filmfodder.wordpress.com/

I peeped it.  Legit, indeed.  Congrats.  By the way, any word on whether we'll be seeing Mugatu in Zoolander II?  I can't imagine he won't pop up somewhere in there.

Will definitely be checking this one out, along with Mars Attacks. Btw, if you loved Mars Attacks, it might be worth checking out the short story it was based on. It's a little more serious than the movie, but a fun little read nonetheless.

And Venom, I'm loving all the updates, makes things much easier.

I'm bummed as @#$% that Bardem isn't going to be in Bond 23.

I was really hopin for that.  Same as Weisz (sp)  At first she was going to play the main bad "guy" and that would have been all kinds of awesome.  But then Bond almost went under.....
