I like it cause it's exactly that, you see a city dying, you see blue collar men turn to crime, it's different and it shows when the chips are down ANYONE is capable of anything.

The Revolution Was Televised: The Cops, Crooks, Slingers and Slayers Who Changed TV Drama Forever

A breakdown of the most influential and important shows by one of the best television writers.

I finally finished big lebowski.

John Goodman's outbursts and the italian dude from dtrt were funny.

Other than that, I didn't like it.

Atonement is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. That one tracking shot is just

Yeah, so John Carter ... really isn't very good. The acting is pretty bad accross the board. It's about the quality of a straight-to-video Star Wars rip off.

I have never seen so many random people walk in concerned about a damn thread title. Jesus. :lol

Dub, I seended that ****. :{

Noble, just got out of GI Joe 2, solid. Much improved over 1. I'll write it up in the morning.

Lady Jaye tho...... :{ Mercy. Make me wanna watch Friday Night Lights all over. I need that Wonder Woman reboot to happen now.

I've already told a couple of people who are like me and enjoy documentaries to check our Side by Side. It's good enough for even people who aren't interested in film history to enjoy it IMO.

I'm on a big documentary kick lately. Amazon Prime definitely offers a good selection. After these ball games tonight I'm gonna check out Man On Wire I believe. Never seen but always wanted to!

I watched Fat Head this evening and was impressed with all the stuff dude threw back into Super Size Me's face. Interesting for sure.

Man on Wire is amazing, won an Oscar too I believe

Watched Warrior for the first time since I saw in the theater, still an amazing film. Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte are so good and I never thought I could have any interest in something MMA related.

^Loved Man on Wire. Great story, great storytelling, surprising amount of suspense, great characters, super watchable, so well done. It's almost not a documentary. It's just a really good, upbeat movie.

This. I don't really get why so many people were cold on it.

I think a lot of people didn't really like it cuz Keira Knighetly is pretty unlikeable in everything she does, and *spoilers* chicks were mad that there wasn't a happy ending? I dunno. Gorgeous film, for sure. And you ain't lying about that tracking shot at the military camp. My favorite Joe Wright movie.

So I watched Paperboy :| :x >D 8o :{ :lol :| :rolleyes :{ ...basically.
I just have no clue what to do with the experience of having watched whatever the hell this is.

I agree. I only really liked the last 15 mins or so.

It's amazing that Andrew Stanton could make something so bad..

What's the worst movie you guys have watched?

Ken Park takes the cake for me.

spoilers

I was like wth when that white kid blew his brains out in the opening scene after acting all hyped about skating.

The sex scene haha.

His dad coming into his room.

Even grandma smh.

I did not get the point to the movie.

It just felt like a like bunch of scenes that were meant to shock me more than the previous scene.

1/5

Battlefield earth has to be the worst movie I've ever seen. :|
^This. I usually find some form of entertainment/humor in bad movies but Battlefield had me making the :x face every scene lol. I'd rather watch a whole marathon of sci-fi channel movies or old school cinemax B-movies than ever sit through Battlefield again.

BTW, caught this on last night and It was a good decision staying up and watching. Needed a break from the usual action, comedy, suspense films.

Luz Garcia, a high school senior in a forgotten Texas town, wants something different than the options awaiting her after graduation. She's earned a ticket out with admission to the University of Texas at Austin, but she can't afford to go. Her one shot is a scholarship for winning the State Powerlifting Championship. It's all or nothing for Luz . . . until nothing stares her in the face

Battlefield Earth really IS bad. :lol

I'm supposed to see GI Joe today, well see how that goes. I'm not even excited.

Tony was a sociopath. Any good you could find in him could easily be forgotten with all the bad. Tony was a bad person who did bad things, he loved his kids, but he's still a bad guy.
Martin Scorsese developing 'Gangs of New York' TV series
The series would draw from the history of late 1800s gangs not only in New York, but also in other cities such as Chicago and New Orleans.

“This time and era of America’s history and heritage is rich with characters and stories that we could not fully explore in a two-hour film,” Scorsese said in a statement. “A television series allows us the time and creative freedom to bring this colorful world, and all the implications it had and still does on our society, to life.”

Was Tony Soprano a good father? I cant really tell

That's a loaded question and pretty much goes to the crux of what the show's about. I guess it depends on the standard you use. If being a good dad just means providing for your kids, generally protecting them and supporting them in the things they want to do, Tony did all those things. But if you take into account the fact that he constantly cheated on his wife, killed people, was a continual risk of getting killed himself, or at least arrested, etc., you would have to say no. You'd have to overlook an awful lot to say he was a good husband or dad. But maybe there's some people out there who are willing to do that.

GI Joe 2

Anytime The Rock headlines, don't expect Oscar buzz to follow the movie. So knowing that going in, you unplug and just try to enjoy. We're not breaking new ground here. GI Joe 1 tried too hard to be "different" and introduce crazy new gadgets and suits and all kinds of other stuff to show that JOES, were different than regular military. It had the idea of the cartoon series, just didn't translate it well.
2 follows up 1, and corrects a lot of things. Out with the lasers, in with actual machine guns. Still plenty of new age gadgets to play with, vehicles to introduce, and most importantly, new blood to bring in and out. The cartoon series was not the same 10-15 characters in every episode. Sometimes it would narrow the focus to 4-5 on each side and go forward. That's what you have here. 1 had Destro, Barroness, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Scarlett, Duke, etc. This time we get Flint, Lady Jaye, FireFly, RoadBlock and some returners in Storm and Snake. Perfect execution in that respect. Just as the cartoon did it, they've done it here. Now, if there was a 3 to come out, they could remix and match even further, bring in Barroness and Destro, but move out Zartan and Flint, or something to that effect. This way it's not the same actors and actresses in every film, and you can use cameo's and such however you want. Very smart way to go with this franchise.

Overall, fair enough plotline, little out there, but that's how Cobra is, all these world domination ideas can be a bit bold, the Joes need to save the day, rinse and repeat. Again, we're not breakin new ground. They have some well shot scenes, and they have a few HORRIBLE camera shots. My God the cameraman would get a bit rattled. Way too many blurred shots. They increased the humor a bit, but it worked out for the most part. They used sex appeal with Jaye much as they did with Barroness in the first one, nothing wrong with that. I hope if there is a 3 they use both of them together and have them rip each others clothes off fighting before moving into a love scene together. :lol Where was I....., oh yeah, the performances were what you'd expect, Rock was Rock, Duke was Duke, Snake Eyes never says a word and yet is the coolest ******g character on screen after Storm Shadow. One thing GI Joe has goin for it, they know how to use their ninjas. Those 2 are OUTSTANDING in their scenes. Seriously, they could spin those 2 off and just take the money right out of my wallet. Thankfully, they fixed that stupid *** mask on Snake, so no more camel toe mouth. :lol :|

I don't know if it's a must in theatres, probably worth just a Blu Ray watch, but it's quick, mindless, pace is just right, totally worth the hour forty you'll spend watchin it. Not as clever and well done as the Fast franchise, and not as spectacular as Transformers, but it has its own niche for action-y movies. Chicks, guns, ninjas, humor, cool toys (vehicles-missiles and ****) exactly what you'd expect.

I originally came in here to say that I just got done watching the Austin Powers trilogy for the first time in forever, and I didn't realize before how terrible Goldmember is. as funny as International Man of Mystery and The Spy Who Shagged Me are, Goldmember is just as dry and lame.
