Saw
Place Beyond the Pines...I liked it. It's uh...it's complicated.
I don't feel like writing about it, so...just see it if you can.
True Blood was really good first season then it got a little too loose when the popularity came and became more soapy.
Mmhmm. Once every chick on twitter started spazzing for every new ep, I knew it was a wrap.
Didn't really like Zombieland, but I'm still going to watch it because it's about zombies.
As much as I hate the ideas of movie spinoffs and the internet's Walmart making TV shows, I'm still a sucker for zombies.
This was good enough for what it was, I guess. It's a nice change of pace from
The Walking Dead, since tonally it's way the other way. They got the budget of
Nathan For You, but the writing's not terrible. The cast is extra whatever, though. Why didn't they just start from scratch? Picking up where the movies ended, means we kinda don't learn to like any of the actors. Ehhh. I'd watch.
Watched Broken City last night. Meh. Decent cast, but wasn't as good as I hoped. Reminded me of State of Play, another Crowe paycheck movie. Decent, kills the time, doubt I need to see it ever again.
How did they get all these good actors to show up for this? What was the bait and switch? Did someone tell them Scorcese was directing?
Did anyone catch Defiance on Syfy last night? I completely forgot about.
Kinda...interesting? I dunno. It makes me just wanna rewatch
Farscape. If you like any sci-fi things...give
Farscape a chance. It's very sci-fi, but it's really good too. It has characters that would be great out of the context of the show. Great bad guys. Super memorable. I wanna watch it again, just to see how much of me thinking it was amazing is just middle school nostalgia.
But yeah, what I was talking about?
...
Defiance...it just feels like a lot of shows. And for me...with sci-fi...you gotta be amazing or amazingly different, like
Firefly or
BSG, or I just can't stick with it. This is light. This feels like it's checking boxes. And it checks em. But I want something more. This is the CBS version of a big sci-fi show. Rita from Dexter AND Jenny from L Word. Ehhhhh.
