Oh wow, Asghar Farhadi (A Separation) has another movie coming soon? That seems like a must-watch.

I recently saw Trance, an art heist film with a million-billion plot twists, so if that sounds appealing to you, go for it. I also saw Upstream Color, and I would only recommend it people who love 2001: A Space Odyssey and/or The Tree of Life, and even then, you still may not like it.

I hated tree of life but 2001 is my favorite movie ever made. I wonder where I it in.

I loved primer, so I guess I will like it?

Can you go into detail a bit?

Every time my cousin Vinny comes on I stop what I'm doing and watch. I only think I do that for 3 movies.

Top 3 comedy of all time. Absoulutley ******g hilarious

If you somehow havent seen it you really need to.

I think a classic comedy is much harder to find than any other genre. I still haven't gotten through all of caddyshack lol. Was disappointed.

Marisa Tomei :smokin Always wished she did more stuff, fine and talented

Watched Sam Raimi's The Gift last night, wasn't a fan at all but at least got to see Kate Holmes topless, that part was a lot better then I expected

I'd watch The Hunt but I can never find a way to watch them when they release in Theaters so by the time they come out on DVD or Netflix I've pretty much forgotten about them

I went into Upstream Color practically blind; I only knew of a scant plot synopsis ("A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives."), that there was something about Henry David Thoreau's Walden, and something about an "upstream DNA sequence," whatever that was.

It's not a plot puzzle that needs to be solved like in Primer, though you'll probably be disoriented for most of the movie, mainly because plot details reveal themselves visually and aurally through editing, really there's not much dialogue in this whole thing. This is a movie that asks for your patience because by the end, you should have an idea of the general narrative and what happened, though maybe not the how and the why. And that's just at the surface level; from there, you can unpack it's themes of human identity, past trauma, and so forth.

I don't get it. That movie was solid, so he edited some shots a bit quick. So?

Pointing out Bourne is dead on.

I think I might be in a very small minority of those that watch a lot of foreign flicks. This one's called The Hunt starring Mads Mikkelsen who plays a divorced father that is under suspicion of child molestation. It opens July 17th. Looks really good...
Imma need that trailer music towards the end.

Thank you.

Today I learned that Hans Zimmer helped make the music for an anime called Blood+.

here are some tracks

is the star trek reboot any good? havent watched the first. but the trailer for the new one looks good.

hating myself for not watching the first when it was on netflix stream..

Im 50/50 on watching the reboot of the Star Trek..

I loved the first one...and this is coming from a kid who never watched old star trek movies or the series because it looked boring. I was very entertained.

The sequel looks even better

Yea, Star Trek was awesome. Only people I've heard who disliked it are some Trekkies

Armageddon >>>>> Pearl Harbor, I rather Earth get hit by an asteroid then watch that trash again

Looks ok but I thought the first Thor trailer was meh & the movie ended up being serviceable. I'll proly wait to see it when it hit blu ray or maybe VOD... Thanks for posting as always venom lyrix. What's new with the Tribeca Film Festival? Isn't that going on right now?

Here is the first US trailer for the sunglassed one's (Wong Kar-Wai) new movie The Grandmaster. I don't like the script of the narration. Whoever wrote it sounds like a hack. I've posted other versions of the trailer in this thread. I've been patiently waiting for this movie to drop.

That looks seriously good. Right up my alley and Berenice. :smokin

A Separation was one of those perfect for what it is movies, so I'm in.
Farhadi seemed like he really knew how to find all the emotion in the moment. Just really good with his actors.

Anyone caught the Zombieland TV pilot?

Watched it and it was alright.

Didn't hate it. Don't get why they didn't just start over, instead of picking up after the movie, though. That's a tough act to follow. Movie's cast was amazing and w.o them...it would've just been kinda corny and forgettable. So this is.....zombies. :lol ..and jokes. And kinda more of a web series than a TV show.

Since most comedies aren't what they could be in the beginning, I'll check a few more if they make em.

Did you watch Alpha House? It's about 4 senators who live in a house at the Capitol together. Main reporter from season 5 of The Wire and John Goodman. What? :lol It's like a cross between Veep and House of Cards.

Only 20 minutes. Check it out...it actually feels like it could be something.

Good morning fellow Cinephiles. Enjoy your trip to work or start of the day with the first trailer for Thor: The Dark World - http://wp.me/p2CCWq-2UE

:\ That looks nice, but after that Man of Steel trailer, I need more than that. :lol

I didn't like the first Thor film, nor did I enjoy the Capt America film.

This new trailer I suppose is okay but I think Thor is not for me. It doesn't really feel like a superhero film if that makes sense

Nah, I kinda feel the same way.

If it wasn't for Avengers, I wouldn't be looking out for the next Cap. And a lot of the corny/bad stuff from Thor 1, (Portman and Dennings' characters) look like they made it into this too. 8o
