Paris 2024 Summer Olympics: Thank you, France!🥇🥈🥉

According to Mike Tirico in the studio, by rule, the winner is decided by whose torso crosses the line first. Lyles got it with that last lean at the end.

I always heard torso, which I thought to be your waist. Apparently not.

7 of the 8 going sub 9.9 is unheard of
If we are at the point where we the entire field is doing sub-10, is it the track that they said is fast or training is allowing for this? If it is the latter, we may see Bolt's record broken eventually.

Wow I didn’t know the men’s tennis happened. Dumbass article schedules man. Every article I read said 4:30est

Its a fast track but the rest of the field top to bottom are getting better and better with training.

That being said, the top end guys still aren't catching the top end guys from 10+ years ago.

Yohan Blake and Tyson Gay ran 9.75's and 9.71's (American Olympic record still) respectively and came second best

Bolt's record won't be broken for decades. Ato Boldon said he running video game times.
2nd fastest time is more than a tenth off. I think 9.6 is possible for current sprinters but 9.5 will need some genetic freak and perfect conditions.

The 200m WR though, that is there for the taking eventually.

I think we got all field sub-10 because the rest of the world is catching up. It's no longer the time where sub 10's will come from the Jamaicans and Americans.
A lot of the of the foreign sprinters also now train in the US so you getting the best talent from everywhere.
