I haven't been following this closely, has info been released as to why the cop shot in the first place? No way am I buying that he shot dude with his hands on the air, although that's what people are making it seem like. I heard something about he reached for a cell phone and the cop felt threatened. I'm just curious as to why the officer had a gun drawn over some kids waking down the street.

Thank you. Dudes here know nothing about anything. They just assume as if it were law that the dude was just having a picnic before getting blown away. "Witnesses" say he was doing nothing. But these are the same people that "didn't see anything" whenever a crime happens in their neighborhood. Only slightly more credible than a blind man.
There is no official information about what caused it. People are too busy stealing and looting to care.

They weren't. But was Michael Brown? The fact that he is dead suggests to me that he was. But until we know for sure and get the officer's testimony it is pointless to "take up arms against the racist government" or whatever they think they're doing. For all anyone knows the guy tried to take the officer's gun. You all assume he was doing nothing when in all probability he was.

Men organizing in gangs carrying shotguns to intimidate people is not peaceful. Shooting at helicopters is not peaceful. Screaming "Kill the Police!" "**** the Police!" is not peaceful. Throwing incendiary devices at policemen is not peaceful. Doing hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage is not peaceful. Using the death of a man to steal and vandalize is not peaceful. You must be living on another planet if you think what is going on is all peaceful.
