Vitamix 5200

Thought I was making good smoothies w/ my old Kitchen Aid blender (before the motor died). Bought this 2 weeks ago, and who would have guessed I would be drinking smoothies with sweet potatoes as the base? It's expensive, but WELL worth it...

Da vitamix is the only blender worth buying. It will outlast you. Just always start it on low then flip to high.

What about the blendtec? I hear they are both on the same level but I'm leaning more towards the blendtec as its more aesthetically pleasing.

I don't know about it. It probably isn't bad. Cheap blenders just suck. They don't last. I know vitamix is good so that's what I got. As far as I know there is no competition. I've seen like 40 blenders die at one job when one vitamix would have lasted. The motors kick ***.

tj detweiler tj detweiler that blendtec looks pretty nice too. The vitamix is huge. I wouldn't cop the big one for my crib. That's at my prep kitchen.

I'd just get the short vitamix.

Aesthetically pleasing? It's a blender. :lol Stays in the pantry and only comes out when I need to use it.

Not to mention the Vitamix has a 7-8 year warranty. That motor on the vitamix is no joke.

I use mine regularly so mine stays out on the counter. Vitamix has a 7 year warranty, Blendtec has an 8 year warranty if I'm not mistaken.

Just looked up that blender $500 :x

Gonna be good with my nutri bullet :lol

I got lucky w/ mine. Copped it at Bed Bath and Beyond. I called about an hour before I got there because I wanted to purchase the one that was for $378 (I forget the model). This was the only Vitamix model they had in their display. They said they'd hold it for me. When I got the blender from customer service, it was the 5200, and I have no clue where it came from. I had other shopping to do there, so I had those 20% off coupons. The cashier applied one of the coupons to the 5200, and I got it for $399. In the fine print of the coupon, Vitamix blenders are exempt from the 20% off coupons. I got lucky. :hat

I love it because I take much less time to prep the food that I'm about to blend. You can put just about anything in the blender w/ minimal prep and it does the job.

Might have to cop now.

Yeah if I was just using it for drinks and stuff around the house I wouldn't spend that much. I use mine for work and I use it a lot. Unless you are going ham on the margaritas and shakes like 10 times a day I'd just spend a few hundred or less. I just can't do cheap appliances.

In your profession, you shouldn't. :lol

:lol even at the crib. I need something with some heft to it. Like the Cuisinart food processor. The classic one with one switch. You wouldn't use that in a restaurant but it's good for the house. Doesn't cost a stack like a robot coupe and isn't junk.
