thats my point..........sti is just a subaru , an srt-8 is just a dodge , the evo is an exception cause it has (the earlier models) that supra/rx7/nsx stigma to it when it comes to rarity , except for that model supra that everyone loves , the model rx7 that everyone loves , and the (top 5 aesthetic car to me) NSX then i couldnt justify spending more than 35k on anything that isnt luxury when you can damn near , or probably get im sure its around 35-40k for a brand new is350 / q50 and more than likely get the "higher trim" fsport or "s" for like 1-2k more ..................would seriously drive a 2010 328i ( not even a coupe lol ) before you catch me in a ford that isnt a v8Its a higher trim model just like your m3 is the higher trim 328.
If that was the case the below would all be true but its not. They are built on a platform but totally different beasts
sti is just a impreza
evo is just a lancer
srt8 is just a charger
etc
not knocking the fact that people cant / wont get the M used like i did for 40ish K , im just saying if youre going to spend 35-40k and you want brand new then please get yourself a brand new lexus is / infiniti q , or hell if you love ford get yourself a badass 4 door pickup with a v8 for that same 35-40k but seriously reevaluate this 35-40 freaking bands for a FOCUS! nevermind the ford badge , but a FOCUSEverybody can't be blessed wit da ///M, papi.
They really aren't but ok, old V8 numbers were actually estimated lower for insurance reasons.Point is V6's are hitting old V8 numbers. "Sport" cars arent RWD exclusive either. Times a changing.
Id put money that if you put any of those cars on a dyno they aren't making over 300 wheel HP.I thought the V6 in the Camaro put out 340 hp?...
Google search says 335 close nuff...
My point is modern sports cars are pushing 500-600 hp easy these days... And RWD isn't always the answer...

had to edit because certain STI'S are respect and saught after which is the same that can be said about the supras and rx7s......different strokes for different folks but still sti , evo , srt , these cars and badges have their legacy , i can gaurantee that those ford focus will be worth as much as that focus pictured above is worth in 15 years , which is like 2-4 thousand bucks ....mustang will always be fords performance car and the car that gearheads / young'ns that want to burnout and donuts in from ford , this ford focus is not the next sti , evo , srt , m , amg , etc ...........related : lexus messed up their chance at "F" cars being legendary after the awesome ISF , they start handing out the f badge literally on EVERY IS that i see , it has an f badge but no performance above the same base model..........and literally 90% of them are gray or white with the red interior and the 250 instead of the 350
is 350 is good enough , the f sport is a bumper and badge , literally no performance advantages , base model is250 > any focus ever , you can pull up anywhere to anyone in a 2007+ lexus today yambs will see the lex and respect , a male cousin or friend will see the lex and respect...........pull up in that ford focus over the age of 25I'm cheap so there is no way im buying a lexus or infinity for 35-40. You aren't getting anything other than the base models for that kinda money and i would feel pissed seeing is350 f sports driving past me.
The focus rs is a completely different car then a Lexus or Infinity so at the end of the day the driver would need to evaluate what they are looking to get out of their car first.
srsly dont understand the question but to answer what i think is being questioned .......this ford focus will not have the legacy or hold the respect / value that the sti / srt / evos do .There are like 4-5 different sti models at this point. And they have been throwing v8s in dodge cars since god knows when. How is that any different from the 10 different evos (all of them are close to the one before them other than the 10)

You can get a used ISF for under 40k easily and it will feel brand new on the inside. Lexus are one of the best aging cars in my opinion. You'll also be beating Ms with it even with a rug rat in the backI'm cheap so there is no way im buying a lexus or infinity for 35-40. love quad exhausts
single full time dad , wake up at 5:30 am to have baby at daycare by 6:30 and be at work by 7 in a m3 coupe crew she even makes the "vrooooom" sound playin around
Clean/simple
From what I've seen stock vs stock the ISF beats the M. Also I had a 350 and its the same interior as the ISF which is pretty damn nice, handling isn't even close though I agree.

m was way faster , handled better and the interior dont even get me started
