Exactly, I like the B5 a lot after owning one, I had zero problems out of it but didn't have it very long.I was looking at S4's before I got my car, and the biggest knock against it was its reliability. I just don't see a tuned B8 S4 lasting the next 5-7 yrs I would like to own it. They have a few known problems, and can be costly to repair. Also, that depreciation
Compared to an STI tho, its all preference. The Subie will be raw, while the Audi more refined, maybe too refined for some. I'd try to find a manual with the Sports Diff. A simple APR tune, downpipes, and pulley will easily put it in the 400hp range. Not sure how fun it'd be to drive tho.
I'd give the overall package to the S4, but performance and fun factor is more important to me.
