yeah you're paying 18k and better for that one, but da last generation tahoes are very capable and go for less.

If i could double rep I would.

I had a 00 Tahoe with 113K miles.

I'm not exaggerating at all when I say it ran as good as a brand new car.

I'd prob get something new and reliable than an 11 year old Beamer

Thank you to all for advising me not to purchase the vehicle. Any recommendations for a SUV/Minivan around $12K? Prefer an AWD vehicle. It'll mostly be used on the weekends so probably less than 3K miles a year. Don't really care for brand name. Just need something sturdy, dependable, low cost maintenance, easy on the gas, and will last a few good years. I'm in NYC, not sure how much cold weather will factor in. I know $12K won't get me much and is slim pickings, but appreciate any help and advice.

P.S. - Any good websites to read up on making a purchase on a vehicle? What to know, look out for, etc.

honda odyssey.
mom has an 06 with 105k miles did only oil changes and brakes and at 100k miles i did spark plugs and the timing belts and ****** oil change and everything is gucci.

So.. Maybe someone can help me out with some advice. I have a 350z, paid off, I'm happy.. but bored.. want something new. Ive never financed before, but I wanted to pick up a C300 or C350 OR a 328i/xi. I found a fully loaded C300 -46k miles White/beige(Its not your normal beige however) for 21k. The dealer isnt willing to budge on the price, even with me putting 7k down, as he says they have another buyer(likely BS I know). Should I walk away? It isnt imperative that I buy the car, but it does seem like a good deal. Nada is 25k.

Is it a reputable dealer or shady small mom and pop type place?

Walk.

You have to find a way to get the upper hand, once you have that you're gonna be in the power position.

Also, how much is usually negotiated off of a price? If its posted for 21k, how much can I expect them to shave? 1k, a few hundred? I always buy from owners, and i'm usually able to get at least a thousand off, if not more from a private owner.

A lot of dealers will tell you that they base their pre-owned vehicles off of the market and therefore the price isnt negotiable. Its up to the preowned manager at the particular dealer. You have a better chance at getting them to budge if youre present at the dealership. Why promise you a price on the phone when someone will come in tomorrow and buy at the asking price?

Walk away is figurative. I was actually at the dealership yesterday, and made an offer. He dropped the price from 21,500, to 21k.. but I wasn't content with that, so i left. But I am still interested in the car. I just wasnt sure if what he was asking was a good price or not.

You sound like you know what you're doing. IMO that price sounds fair. Did you see the car? In good shape? He may be BSn you that he has another buyer on deck, but dont be surprised if that car is no longer available in the next 24-48 hours. The pre-owned cars are there one minute and gone the next.

Yea OP strike while the iron is hot if and when ur comfortable with the price... If its actually a good deal odds are you arnt the only one who knows it.

That bein said... Do ur how too... Car fax. Thorough inspection/test drive etc.

Anyway I dinged the G last week... Ill post pics when I get home but I'm not happy. Gotta find a PDR shop now n get raped for this ill bugger...

Cars no longer DS status. This is some bull. Don't eem like driving it haha I'm super petty.

I've talked myself outta the CLA and into an A4 but in the interim I was thinking of driving something considerably larger since my commute for the next 6 mo ths at least is non existent...

Wanna test drive this H2 over the weekend if it lasts that long n hopefully an FJ.

Why are you looking at the H2? Just curious.

*I had an '03 Z71 and I sold it a few years back for a little over 12k. I absolutely LOVED it. Might have to go back to chevy on my next purchase...

>D how bad is the dent ? is it a little "hi how ya doin?" or a "whats up mother ******? "
... I guess Ill just see when you post pics

Damn I just checked the pics of that H2 and the interior looks roasted, especially for a car with only 54k miles. Looks like a weekend warrior club car thats probably seen alot of different butts and drunk driven city miles.

/\ size of a large fist on the front quarter panel right at the seem. Hope to Jesus the paint doesn't crack when they pop it... That's the reason I'm not trying to do it myself.

And good catch that leather is trashed. I jus liked the price/mileage. Still might be worth checking out. I could get the front seats reupholstered for a stack with some faux leather/microfiber

@JJ - I jus want something brolic I think to try awhile... No particular lust for the H2 but its the biggest body haha. I've had a thing for FJs for the longest. Like the new Cherokee but can't get one equipped how I like for my budget.

Getting a good price has a few variations. One, they could have got the car from a trade-in or the dealership may have bought it from an auction. If the dealership bought it from an auction, they most like got the car for way less than what the KBB/Nada value of the car. For example, if the dealer went to an auction and bought a bmw for $15k and the Kbb/Nada value of the vehicle is 21k, the dealer, will work with you in between their asking price of 21k and the actual purchase cost of the car of 15k. So, they can say at 21k, we can drop the price for you at 19k, they still profit 4k etc-etc. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this as simple as possible but I'll tell you this, if a dealership says "we are not making any money of this deal" that's the biggest pile of bullsheet** because no dealership will sell a car without making any profit off of the deal.
