I think the only explaination for the crooks hats are:

They like/love the brand and want to support it
People assume they are 'rare'
And some like the design/colorway

Most likely in that order.

I wanted the 1st run because its my first initial (the Cubs 'C' is horrible and I also want a Chocolate Skate 'C') but I had to settle for the 2nd series which was kind of thin and not as 'rare/exclusive' as I thought but its str8.

Best 'C' hat I liked was the first time New Eras did white/white hats and were using a shiny pearl kind of stitching for outlines they had a Cubs with a larger C and a bear kind of over it.
I ended up buying the same hat again later but noticed they didn't use that 'pearl'-like stitching for the outline anymore.

...Yup im rambling

I like them (even though I don't own one) because of its simplicity. I don't like crazy/wild designs and colors. As I have mentioned, I usually stick to my home teams and the Yankees. I basically only buy caps for teams/brands I am a fan of. That's why even though I might like a design of a particular cap, I won't purchase it because I am not a fan of that team.

I liked the first few with the thicker stitching but the new ones look weak.
 
tha rangers is nice but i have too many black/red fitteds i think rangers is my favorite symbol on fitteds right now
