The hardest thing for most people to understand about Alex Smith is that the way he loses games is very tough to measure. Most QB's lose games through INT's or Fumbles. Alex loses games through balls he doesn't throw and opportunities that are missed that NFL QBs shouldnt miss.

This is the hardest thing to articulate to Alex Smith fans to get them to understand. 49er fans who liked Alex couldn't grasp this. The few Chiefs fans I know are having trouble grasping this. Its hard for them because his numbers on the surface generally look acceptable. He always has a high completion percentage, great TD to turnover ratio and a pretty high passer rating. But he hurts his team by his unwillingness to throw balls downfield and maximize the potential of every play (or his offense in general).
