Rhapsody is dope but mentioning her with the ladies we're speaking on is disingenuous. She's in a league of her own
Feeling left out? Can you expound on this. Are you referring to make rappers or male fans? Ladies are at the peak of their popularity and yet still none of them can sell albums besides Nicki. Icee, Coi, and Sexy Redd have been pushed to high heavens but all their album releases have flopped which tells me that people like women rap in small doses but aren't trying to hear entire projects full of "lick my cat" raps... Hip-hop as whole has seen a sales decline though and we see all these labels dropping folks and laying off employees. People are just tired of degenerate raps.

All facts. These type of tracks we rarely getting from mainstream female rappers nowadays and I put that blame more so on the consumers because the few times a female rapper puts an introspective or straight rappin song out it pales in comparison success wise oppose to the raunchy joints. So I get why they churn those out. Like when Cardi and Megan came out with “Wap” that was a cool moment n all but I personally felt they were above that, but I felt they needed to keep up with the freak flows that were running rampant at the time.

I don't really play Meg or Glorilla by myself but I've enjoyed plenty of both their songs. Glorilla's debut album is pretty solid actually.
I don't really care about the subject matter, if it slaps then it slaps.

I don’t care about sales though. Never did. It’s about what I enjoy. Im saying we were introduced to foxy and Kim via male rappers. In 2024, you don’t need that to go. Is Latto or any of these women less raunchy than Foxy who was rapping on some wild stuff at 16 or 17? No. Second time I heard foxy we was giving mathematics on coke. Still degenerate but that’s what was called for to jump on a track with legends. Kim’s first single was wild man. And we all know how the album cover looked like. Foxy told a smooth story with backstreet but her album was called ill na na.
TLDL women don’t need co-signs so they go full raunchy instead of street/raunchy. Oh and we old now. No reason to be checking for the next young twerker
Ok I get what you're saying, yeah you're right in that regard. Nicki was the last of the generation where they needed male co-signs to get looks.

. Unless it comes on the radio or playlist or something that she really wants to listen to. But…..I hear it when out and about, and see the reaction. Some of them SOUND GOOD….purely off of nostalgia and vibes + lit women having fun and dipping into their ratchet bag for a couple mins. Glorilla is unique in she for sure has her own sound…and doesn’t need to rely on samples or nostalgia.
Sexxy Redd is horrible, a terrible influence and a plant. But she for sure has the cheat code with 2006-2012 club banger/internet youth Nostalgia samples, and aesthetic. Especially one hit songs or random bangers from the south & Midwest with huge followings. And she’s naturally, authentically a true hood bish, that gives zero *****s and comes from the music/culture. She’s going to sample Jibbs, J Kwon, Rich Kidz, Huey, Soulja Boy, DFB, some Dallas rappers….you name it. And it’s going to work, until it doesn’t.
Megan is just attractive and personable. She super basic at rap. Her flow really is weak and old. Production lacking. But she’s likable and sexy, and her visuals are always on point. And women are also attracted to her/attracted to her image. The music selling doesn’t matter at all with her anymore. It’s the products.
Latto is similar to Megan image wise….but she’s actually a trained, professional rapper, who’s been making real songs since she was a kid. She’s best equipped for longevity and staying power. She too has writers, but it’s obvious she got the sound, aesthetics and right people around her.
Cardi B was never supposed to make music. She too is a personality, and will hop in where they see fit.
Out of all of these folks…Glorilla has the best actual music, that people can relate to. Her production and natural Memphis **** just resonates. It’s familiar. It’s authentic, and she’s likable/RELATABLE. Could never bump her music intentionally, but some songs for sure you vibe to a lil bit when out.
When it comes to album sales….Glorilla is the only one that will sell. The actual music, people listen to. Not just the image or nostalgia.

These girls just solo entertainers, microwaved manufactured mass produced BS. Real rappers like Mia X, Gangsta Boo, La Chat, Eve, Suga T, foxxy, Kim ect ect all rolled with crews of real lyricists and could hold their own. They talked about some of the same **** but they wasn't pushing it to the kids they was just doin what they do and whoever found it found it. They was authentic. I don't know it was just different.

Kim and Foxy shouldn't even be brought up. Both of them had actual TALENT and could rap AND perform.
Like I said most of these girls are IG models or viral girls given deals. City Girls, Ice Spice, Saweetie, Sexy Red, etc. These are not legit music artists. I really wonder how much money these labels are losing with these girls.

but I was thinking the same thing, because they're paying writers and probably paying for other artist reference tracks to use.
About half the Starlets bartenders were trying to rap after Cardi popped. I wonder how many dudes ****** with promises making them a star and helping their careers.

Hardly disingenuous. There’s been a lot of complaints about female rap on NT and on other outlets, yet hardly any light is shined on the women out there who are doing their things in a more substantive way. Rhap is fire, but some folks would rather harp on the Megs and Glorillas of the world than acknowledge the former.
