Yeah I definitely think this is a narrative play on Drake's behalf. His minions will eat this up and think he's fighting a bigger battle than what it appears to be. When in reality, he's just trying to save his image. In doing that, he's going against UMG and hip hop as a whole. Even if he goes indy, this just won't work out well for him. I don't know what his endgoal was with this as a 38 year old rapper at the tail end of his popularity.
