Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

I was listening to Tariq nasheed's live stream last night and poetic flakko was on there saying Drake is a martyr and this is bigger than hip-hop lol

Crazy cuz I'm listening to that right now. This fool flakko compared this Michael Jackson owning his masters then getting pedo allegations. :lol

Drake don't have no charges on him. On top of all that Drake called Kendrick a wife beater FIRST then Kendrick came with the knockout blow. These mfers gon act like Kendrick just came out the blue saying he's a pedo. Now they mad cuz what Drake saying didn't land.

Drake Going out like Raptors Hakeem!

if a company had a hand in you being called and promoted as a P, you’d wanna take action too, at any level. We’re in America, only way to really do something here is to hurt someone’s pockets.
He literally said Dave Free was the father of Kendricks's kid on the song before. Kendrick didn't take him to court, he just made a better song.

The very same company literally released similarly defamatory records by the artist suing against the other artist alleging all sorts of impropriety and crime though without issue :lol

Is it oochie wally or one mic?

Can't have it both ways

Both are bad no doubt, I’m only pointing out that none of us here would stand for that ish from our “employer”. FWIW one song of the two you’re mentioning got the boost to push it even further, I think that’s the base of this. Drake should take the L if it’s all equal but a company taking a cut to push one of the two songs with wild allegations, is also not good.

One thing for both sides to make the allegations and let the public decide the winner, it’s another thing to have the song pushed by your own employer on a global scale, containing those allegations.

What song of his should be getting boosted?

It shouldn’t be, but we’re talking about FM and NLU. Both contain allegations but one is being pushed onto the public from the label while one isn’t. Regardless how anyone feels about the artists this is what the base of the suit is.

I hear what you're saying but I'm wondering what exactly the labels contractual responsibility is for pushing a dis record. Its not like it's an album. Were they obligated to push Delilah or 100 gigs? I guess it depends on the contract language. Now if they can prove illegal payments then that's another story but I'm confident all labels are paying to push songs and fabricate popularity and have been long before streaming existed. UMG gonna unleash the flutes on anyone trying to expose the record industries shady tactics. If you thought they played dirty before watch what happens if these allegations have any legs at all.
