Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Any level headed adult would understand that it would come to this at some point. What you want them to be mortal enemies?

Nothing Meek said was 30 laughing emojis worthy or hypocritical. Y’all pick sides way too much and look for “defend this” esque moments.

Bruh what are you even talking about? I myself said I saw this coming.

I'm saying that I know the usual folks are gonna throw around the whole "oh so yall like Meek now narrative"

Curious to see what they do with Em’s music

No charges, but promotes the same if not worse crimes against women

“Content”

Right now the only people taken down are public figures with very public charges brought against them.

Has nothing to do with "content" ??

Both probably scum bags....but their music doesn’t deserved to be removed for “allegations”. Funny how two Black artist are the first to have his happen too though.

Note to Spotify...Musicians (people in general aren’t squeaky clean). Wonder if Thriller is still on Spotify 8o.....as well as the thousands of other problematic artists over the years.

Just speaking on the overexhausted PC era we live in, funny seeing whats tolerable and whats not, and for who, etc

Like if they remove Rick Ross music for saying “molly in her champagne”, but not Em, whats the reasoning

and what wavycrocket wavycrocket said, that move alone would in theory affect half of artists

You're talking about something that's not even close to happening.

This is closer to an artist being dropped by sponsors and endorsements because of public legal troubles. That's been happening way before this "PC era"

They're only being taken off Spotify created playlists. Not the entire platform.

I’m more curious to see what their timeframe is? Are they going back to the 80’s, 90’s? Or only present day? Etc etc

They gon hit all the black artists first

Then eventually get around to white artists
But those fanbases will boycott or petition to bring them back

Spotify setting a terrible precedent. The moment they do this to someone that isnt universlly hated like Kellz (like a 2Pac for example who is accused and convicted of the the same general category shenanigans as Kellz...he just had a more charismatic and believable defense) artists gonna take their own **** off the service and its gonna backfire.

**** is subjective as hell. Why can’t people be adults and say yeah that ****** a creep but I Believe I Can Fly is one of the greatest 100 songs since 1918.

Nah fam. Since 1925
